So what bloody size ARE my feet?

Size 8 ballet pumps from Asda. Pinch a little and my feet are so wide the sides end up on the ground and hole.

Size 6.5 wide fit low wedges from la redoute. Like boats on me.

Everything has been pinching lately. I have a wide bridge. So I thought wide fit would be good. Except no.

I'm baffled. Think I would be as well wearing the boxes!

I am a 7 bit a 7 can be really hit or a miss. I go with European sizing at 41 and seem to be ok.

RhondaJean · 11/06/2014 18:57

Ive been looking and some of my shoes are 40, some 41, these giant la redoute ones are 40.

Even my running shoes, which were fitted in a proper running shop, only fit well on one foot.

Yes I prefer to stick with 41 - fits me in almost all the makes I buy, except Boden, where I often need 42.

'UK' sizes are all over the place. I reckon a true 41 is no smaller than a 7.5, but some manufacturers insist on trying to interpret it differently.

MyrtleDove · 11/06/2014 19:07

I have narrow feet but a high instep and wide bridge. And a size 5.5 so a nightmare finding stuff in my size.

Yes that is so similar to mines!

I would post a drawing but I can't get photos to load from my iPad.

If anything mines sticks out even more at the "bunion" area and th equivalent bit for my little toe.

You can go on the machine in clarks as an adult.

My feet are roughly that shape too and I really struggle. Wide at the toes and front bit but narrow heels and a high arch just to make life more difficult! My poor DS has inherited my feet and last time I took him into Clarks, the fitter gave up cos nothing in his measured size of 9 1/2 G actually fitted his feet.

To make it worse I am a 40 or 6 1/2. Not a 39 or 41 like lots of UK shops want my feet to be but a 40 dead on. I find Clarks E fitting shoes are usually ok and Skechers, DMs and wide fit Birkis are good too. Pretty much anything else, forget it!

I buy Skechers for kicking about in and wear them to death.

My adidas gazelles hurt the side of my foot.

I need dressier shoes for work though, with st least a small heel to stop me schlepping (am looking for promotion, need to look as efficient as I am!)

I've often thought you could take off my small toe and the side of my foot back to my ankle and make a normal shaped foot?

And yes to struggling with bangles, though I can usually force them on eventually.

This is a bit Embarassing but do a y of you also struggle to find hats that fit?

It's a standing joke in our house that I'm not allowed to wear any of DHs bobble hats because I will stretch them Sad

My local clarks measured my feet. Came out a 5 and was wearing a 6.

Think shoes are becoming like clothes - you can no longer just buy a size but you need to try on all sizes!

Pain in the butt!
