So, this is what I have planned for a wedding later this year. What do you think? Does it all come together ok, is there anything you would change or suggest? Please be honest!

I like the pink shoes better. Not sure about the cardigan though.

MissisBee · 31/05/2014 20:32

Haven't tried tying it round me but it has been mentioned a couple of times. I could tie it in a bow - it's still a bit droopy but not as long

SinglePringle · 31/05/2014 21:06

Starch it?

PumpkinsMummy · 31/05/2014 21:21

nothing to critique as I am terrible at fashion but DH is reading over my shoulder and commented what a nice dress it is. Seeing as he never compliments my outfits I think you are on to a winner!

TartanRug · 31/05/2014 21:26

Pink shoes!

RosiePosiePing · 31/05/2014 21:35

I like the pink shoes for a wedding, especially if you take the cardi off in the evening.

goandshowdaddy · 31/05/2014 21:49

I also have the dress and have worn it to a wedding! However, I cut the belt off as it just doesn't hang properly, whichever way you tie it. I did like the pink and green combo but just couldn't get it to work. The dress looks lovely on you, and I agree go for the nude shoes. I wore white peep toe wedges (this was a few years ago) which I think looked nice at the time.

HenI5 · 31/05/2014 22:09

Sorry but I think the nude and silver shoes and the shrug make the outfit look very frumpy.

I love it with the pink shoes though, if you could lose the shrug (I think the elbow length sleeve shortens your body length and the colour really does nothing for you)

Rewy · 31/05/2014 22:26

I dont like it sorry
As long as you feel good wearing it thats all that matters

Thurlow · 01/06/2014 07:42

Why do people make comments like that when the OP has clearly already chosen the bulk of the outfit? Confused MN makes me laugh sometimes...

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 01/06/2014 07:56

I like the silver shoes, but not keen on the cardi. Would prefer a cropped white jacket.

ExcuseTypos · 01/06/2014 08:06

You look lovey.

I'd definitely go for nude shoes, the pink makes it all look a little bit "little girly", the nude are much more "grown up".

Eastpoint · 01/06/2014 08:29

I think you're original styling is good for a wedding. Is it going to be outside at all? If the reception is in a garden then the sandals would be best as they look as if they have the most practical heel. I automatically think of wedding receptions taking place in gardens with marquees as most of the ones we've been to have been that style but if you are going to be in a hotel maybe the other shoes are more appropriate?

wooly31 · 01/06/2014 08:46

It's lovely- do you have any alternative shrugs, jackets or something to show us? I think it's the cardi thing that is the (only slightly) weaker point. In the photo's the cardi also risks merging and looking like your pale arms/shoulder. Something bolder? Something pink? Even if not- lovely- you look great.

Blackjackcrossed · 01/06/2014 08:51

I love the look, don't tone it down with neutral shoes, the matchiness suits the occasion. I think you have managed the almost impossible - you've pulled together a wedding outfit that looks edgy and interesting, most people just look dull, depends what look you are trying to create though.

Slip off the cardigan - I think a fake fur stole would complete the look.

grassyarsesenor · 01/06/2014 08:53

Definitely nude shoes. You won't need the cardi and I agree re lose the belt altogether... If you're worried re cold take a lightweight blazer.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/06/2014 10:22

Belinda is right - a cropped white jacket would be lovely.

Might this work?

MissisBee · 01/06/2014 10:22

I've had the cardigan for quite some time, so don't mind looking for something else (the hat is actually the only thing I've bought new, the outfit has all been cobbled together from stuff I already had) I'll have a look at blazers and jackets. Any suggestions?
Just to add, the ankle strap on the ivory shoes is detachable, would this alter your opinion of them (or just add more confusion!)

I like the detail on that one Remus, thanks

You look lovely and I love the pink shoes! How about swapping the bag for a beaded pink, green, nuetral clutch so doesn't matchy match the shoes?

burnishedsilver · 01/06/2014 11:03

I like it. The pink shoes and the nude shoes are good. My only reservation is the belt. Is there another way to tie it?

burnishedsilver · 01/06/2014 11:06

OK. Just reading the other replies now.....if I were you I'd keep everything as in the first photo but remove the belt. Looking good :-)

MissisBee · 01/06/2014 12:38

I'll have a play around with the belt later. I don't think I've ever put so much thought into an outfit before, this is great.

Love it!! Prefer the nude shoes to the pink, but everything else looks fab Smile

theidsalright · 01/06/2014 15:53

I think you look lovely. It's very matchy matching but that's a kind of look in itself!

Can you show us the belt tied in a bow? It does look a wee bit redundant like that.
