What heels/heelish yet not really heels can a person procure themselves to wear if they really don't like wearing heels but like how heels look?

Got that?

Good.

Grin

I do like skinny jeans or a nice dress on a night out. I'm short, I can't properly dress them up in flats.

But, I walk like a constipated penguin in heels.

Oh, and I'm skint.

Help

Tethers, those are instruments of torture!

tethersend · 28/05/2014 11:37

Well, indeed- but all heels are Grin

Seriously, why not just have flats if you want comfort?

BeeBlanket · 28/05/2014 11:42

Wedges and block heels are definitely less of a nightmare to walk in than really pointy stilettos. (Although I can still fall over in any heels)

IDugUpADiamond · 28/05/2014 11:56

BeeBlanket, I used to have those sandals (I am short and do need the extra height). They are the most ridiculously comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Unfortunately though, the cork heel split from side to side within 5 weeks of light wear. I got an identical replacement and the exact same thing happened to the new pair.

BeeBlanket · 28/05/2014 12:08

Oh that's rubbish Diamond! Luckily, mine aren't likely to get that much use, though I might dig them out again after this thread.

Lanabelle · 28/05/2014 12:14

WEDGES!!!! trust me, for someone who passed their driving test in wellies and idea of 'scrubbing up' involves a hosepipe they are a godsend

RonSwansonsLushMoustache · 28/05/2014 12:18

My Fly Yuna look fine on my scrawny ankles. They're not as clompy as they look.

HoneyDragon · 28/05/2014 18:32

Interesting. Wedges appear not to be working, I look odd. I do like te Snakeskin pair Tethers linked too.

I want a pair of heels Tethers as I'm bloody sick of looking odd in photos with other women, and apRt from the constipated penguin walk I look good in them. Except small wedges, then I look weird Confused

The Snakeskin pair Tethers linked are beautiful. I bought them even though, still in the shop, they hurt Blush and I knew they wouldn't get any more comfortable. You probably won't be surprised to hear I ended up taking them back. Still love them though.

Milmingebag · 28/05/2014 20:42

Hobbs wedges a mid heels are pretty comfortable.

HoneyDragon · 28/05/2014 21:06

Ooh I used to have a lovely pair of Hobbs heels that I wear daily, back when I could wear them.

I can't do heels but have managed to wear these from Clarkes a few times recently
Really comfortable and look really dressy

littlewhitebag · 28/05/2014 22:04

My DD has these. She wore them to her grad ball with a 70's vibe dress but they would look great with a skirt or jeans. What's better is that she says they are supremely comfortable.

cerealqueen · 28/05/2014 22:17

Wedges which also have a bit of a platform?

cerealqueen · 28/05/2014 22:18

Like the two previous posters said....

HoneyDragon · 29/05/2014 00:02

I've been looking through Clarks, justaweeone has definitely got the sort of look I'd like.

Mind you I've seen some nice platforms too. But I'm worried about falling over Grin

Ignoring the pattern, this sort of style heel is easier to wear than skinny stilettos, and the strap makes them easier to walk in

FamiliesShareGerms · 29/05/2014 05:37

Quite a few of what Schuh describes as "low heels" might work? (I find irregular Choice soooo comfortable, though I know they're not to everyone's taste)

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 29/05/2014 06:59

I find M&S heels v comfortable, and I believe that's due to the Insolia inner soles they have. These are not about padding, they are meant to shift the weight away from the ball of the foot (which is what causes me the most pain). You can buy Insolia inserts from Amazon, why don't you try some of those?

capsium · 29/05/2014 07:24

I had this problem a few years ago and found foot exercises helped,

I'm almost 6 ft tall, and feel like a drag queen in heels (plus cannot walk elegantly in them and they make my arches ache).

I go for a low-medium, narrow wedge sandal (not the chunky platform looking wedges). Difficult to find, though. I have a nude pair from Next which are nice, but suede, so hard to keep clean (grrr).

Failing that, I go for super pretty, sparkly flat sandals in summer, and low-heel, sexy long boots in winter. I cant be doing with a proper heel at all. I feel completely ridiculous in them.

I think you should consider the following

What heels/heelish yet not really heels can a person procure themselves to wear if they really don't like wearing heels but like how heels look?

Gives you height, not pointy, decorate tins to your taste.
