What heels/heelish yet not really heels can a person procure themselves to wear if they really don't like wearing heels but like how heels look?

Got that?

Good.

Grin

I do like skinny jeans or a nice dress on a night out. I'm short, I can't properly dress them up in flats.

But, I walk like a constipated penguin in heels.

Oh, and I'm skint.

Help

I loathe heels and the whole concept.

But if I have to its wedges -the only higher thingies I can walk in.
Ish.

chanie44 · 27/05/2014 18:21

I second wedges.

Cocolepew · 27/05/2014 18:22

Walk on your tiptoes.

Or wedges.

rainbowfeet · 27/05/2014 18:22

I can't wear heels anymore Confused .. Spent too much time in flats.

Can manage ok in a medium wedge though.. Bought some espedrills from LaRedoute recently only do for the summer season but they are more reasonable than other shoes.

I find Next very good for shoes too.. Something for everyone normally.

Drquin · 27/05/2014 18:23

Wedges seem to be easier for many, and a good summer look
Check out New Look.

M&S heels are usually v comfy.

Although I think if you're happier in flats, stick with flats.

What sort of style do you like?

Pizdets · 27/05/2014 18:26

I've been off heels for a year (pregnant and young baby)and didn't wear them much at the best of times. Recently wore my Vivienne Westwood/Melissa heels to a wedding and they were comfy as ever, I was even able to lug 20lbs of baby around in them. And they smell like my little pony!

Thepaintedveil · 27/05/2014 18:37

I have 2 pairs of vivienne westwood jelly heels and I find them agony!! I have 2 pairs of clarks shoes-I think they are called Opera and Concert ticket? and they are both comfortable enough to wear all day and also get compliments of them.

I have a pair of Iron fist shoes that I have never been able to wearSad

IDugUpADiamond · 27/05/2014 18:39

Fly London wedges although I know many of you find them hideous

HoneyDragon · 27/05/2014 19:22

Thanks Coco Grin

I know I can just wear flats, but some stuff just doesn't look right and needs that lift.

I inevitably by a pump with a delight wedge but they never work with dresses, and I've yet to find a kitten heel I like, let alone can walk on.

Are Fly a guilty pleasure then? Sort of a bit naff, but comfy so it doesn't count?

Shit. Can't do Fly shoes. Second pair I looked at were called Yoni Grin

BloodFlower · 27/05/2014 19:30

Heels with a strap are always easier to walk in if that's any help.

IDugUpADiamond · 27/05/2014 19:34

Yana and Yuna are nice Smile

HoneyDragon · 27/05/2014 20:13

Hmmmm not sure if Fly will work with scrawny ankles

OP posts:
WildBill · 27/05/2014 20:21

wedges are much easier to walk in elegantly than heels

3littlefrogs · 27/05/2014 20:26

I have very sore feet, so am watching this with interest.
(I know if I lost a couple of stone my feet would have an easier time of it, but I can't face trying to diet at the moment).

RandallFloyd · 27/05/2014 21:41

Blatant place-marking.
I love the look of heels but I just can not be arsed with them anymore.

Cocolepew · 27/05/2014 22:12

A shop in my town has these I thought they were Fly at first, but they are much cheaper. They are marketed as anti fatigue shoes.

HoneyDragon · 27/05/2014 22:37

Those are cute Coco, I need to et my google on I think now.

I love how Fly wedges look, but the back of the shoe (strap bit of mules) is too low and falls down all the time on me.

tethersend · 28/05/2014 10:53

I wasn't envisaging Fly Wedges when I read your OP, tbh.

Was thinking more something like this.

tethersend · 28/05/2014 11:06

These aren't too high

tethersend · 28/05/2014 11:13

ones with a strap

tethersend · 28/05/2014 11:15

would look good with skinny jeans

BeeBlanket · 28/05/2014 11:16

I could have written your thread title! But I'm tall, so heels make me even taller, and while I like the look of them, it's more a constipated giraffe walk for me.

It depends on your style – I prefer something a bit chunky and don't like the skinny stiletto look so much - and I think some Fly shoes are nice. If you look an amazon you can keep linking to more using the range tey put along the bottom of the page.

I actually bought something similar to this - thinking they weren't THAT high. And they look lovely on, but sadly I haven't actually worn them because I still feel too self-conscious being that much taller.
