malory, i spat my coffee at you moving into second position.

motherinferior · 30/08/2006 20:48

I like them. But then I only ever wear flat shoes on account of having flippers.

ambercat · 30/08/2006 20:50

I love them but they hate my feet, i have the blisters to prove it.

Smurfgirl · 30/08/2006 20:51

I live in them, all my shoes are ballet flats apart from 1 pair of trainers. I don't always wear them with the little bow, but they are always in the style. Bought some grey patent ones from Asda yesterday actually...

I've got some lovely little Boden ones, purple suede, I really like them

JonesTheSteam · 30/08/2006 20:52

Am currently coveting a pair in Next.

Don't like the ones with bows on, though - just think they're a bit twee!!!!!!!!!

KBear · 30/08/2006 20:52

Bit chilly being that near the ground in winter though right? You'll be needing a hefty sole then to keep the chilblains at bay.

WelshBoris · 30/08/2006 20:53

love them love them love them

not the chavtastic plasticy ones though, with matching top

shudderisimo

mazzystar · 30/08/2006 20:54

I've been toying with buying a pair, but think they might just be too flat and ankle thickening. I am only considering a deviation from my usual vertiginous heels because I am pregnant and apparently they arethe only thing to wear with wide trousers, If anyone has any other ideas I'm desperate to hear them.

Smurfgirl · 30/08/2006 20:55

KBear I wear mine with socks in winter - toasty. Most people I know do.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2006 20:55

i love 'em, but i can't wear them. they hurt. terribly! ever pair i've tried.

UrsulatheSeawitch · 30/08/2006 20:57

epis, my cousin gets nice wide comfy ones with padded insoles from M&S.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2006 21:00

my feet are narrow.

they're just not for me.

bosscat · 30/08/2006 21:03

I love them. I envisage Darcey Bussell but I look like a big fat frump in them

UrsulatheSeawitch · 30/08/2006 21:04

Shoes hurt on narrow feet???? I always thought life would be so blissful without clodhoppers like mine!

Blondilocks · 30/08/2006 21:06

I'm not really a fan of completely flat shoes. They do look nice on some people depending on what they are wearing them with. My cousin (17) has some cute ones with stars on - I tried some plain black ones but they were just uncomfy to me.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2006 21:08

yep, narrow feet. your heels slip out of shoes w/o straps and your foot involuntarily clenches trying to keep your foot in. ouch.

Turquoise · 30/08/2006 21:09

Nooo don't say they're mutton I've just bought a lovely pewter pair - wear them with cropped jeans and fancy myself very Audrey Hepburn.
But I obviously am mutton as I am also lusting after these

expatinscotland · 30/08/2006 21:09

completely flat shoes also exacerbate the achilles tendonitis in my right heel.

i've got dodgy knees, ankles and feet from breaks, operations, and having scholiosis.

Skribble · 30/08/2006 21:10

Agree look cute on teenagers with shapely legs and small feet look silly and umflatering on ladies with 7/8 sized feet and chunky legs.

expatinscotland · 30/08/2006 21:11

they look REALLY silly on tall skinny lassies w/long, narrow feet.

Twiglett · 30/08/2006 21:39

oh face it .. once again you've been caught out by the great mocker fashion

ballet shoes shouldn't be worn by anyone over the age of 6

they're daft daft

the Emperor is nekkid I tell you
