For the love of all that is holy, all I want is tights that don't fall down!

Again today, I have spent more time than is healthy waddling to the loos, praying my tights aren't going to end up round my knees before get there.

It doesn't matter of they are £10 tights or £1 tights they are all exactly the same.

I'm going to have to start wearing my pants superman style!

Oh lord I've just realised why my elderly patients wear two pairs of pants.

BaconSarniePlease · 08/05/2014 22:21

For those of us with tums etc, have you tried Evans supersoft tights? They never roll down. £10 a pair (£6 at the moment) and they wash beautifully.

All their other tights are roll-down monsters which end up either round your knees or at the top of your legs in a tight band, crotch held in place by the second pair of knickers, but these are great and the only tights I ever buy.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 08/05/2014 22:30

I always swore by M & S, but now they just roll down. I buy XL, although picked up some the other week that were L/XL, and had no trouble with them. I have long legs and a fat tummy. It's not a good combination when it comes to tights.

KissesBreakingWave · 08/05/2014 22:33

Braces. I have a similar problem with my trousers, and braces solved it. Plus, if you're old enough to remember Cannon & Ball, you can go for a full-on "ROCK ON TOMMEH" manoeuvre.

FunnyFoot · 08/05/2014 22:40

Here

The size guide means you can pick tights for a size 20 but also short leg.

So using there size chart you would need to order a size 2 I think.

Hope it is useful Grin

M&S sucky-in tights (can't remember what they're actually called - maybe secret support?) are the only ones I wear now, in 60denier black. They're a bitch to get on, but once on they don't budge.

polyhymnia · 08/05/2014 22:57

I know the feeling. Am a tall 22 and have had two very uncomfortable days at work recently which included retiring to loo to rearrange superman style. Even then I felt one pair were going to drag my knickers down with them as soon as I started walking.

Strangely enough both times this was with expensive tights ( Falke, Cette). Both went in bin when I got home. Am thinking they may have been too big as also wrinkled at ankles . The only ones I've had little or no trouble with are M and S Autograph opaques and nudes.

polyhymnia · 08/05/2014 22:58

Had a look at the Evans but don't like 20 denier - too much betwixt and between IMO.

SheherazadeSchadenfreude · 08/05/2014 23:26

Boots used to sell some wonderful ones with a high lycra content - they just used to sort of snap onto your legs and stay put. No saggy ankles and no wrinkles.

BaconSarniePlease · 11/05/2014 03:13

I don't think the Evans tights I was talking about are 20 denier- isn't that thin? These are much thicker opaque ones.

GlaikitFizzog · 11/05/2014 09:52

Ah! Well I've ordered 6 pairs! I will report back!
