Again today, I have spent more time than is healthy waddling to the loos, praying my tights aren't going to end up round my knees before get there.

It doesn't matter of they are £10 tights or £1 tights they are all exactly the same.

I'm going to have to start wearing my pants superman style!

This is a very silly question. But are you sure you have a small enough size on? Grin

And do you mean the gusset falls down, or the actual leg material?

ggirl · 08/05/2014 20:46

lololol at thread title

yup superman style and sweaty crotch

Meow75 · 08/05/2014 20:50

Glaikit, I'm with you, so much so that I really try to avoid wearing clothes where one might normally wear them.

tabvase - I have thought that, but then I'm clearly in the "super lardarse" group, where tights are sized for 4 or 5 dress sizes. And, yes the gusset ends up mid thigh level. It's not like I'm especially tall, 5'4" ish but size 22-24. Do you have any hosiery advice?!

GlaikitFizzog · 08/05/2014 20:51

Size wise I am a mixed bag of short stumpy legs but large arse. So they are alway too long and end up like Nora Batty, but to buy ones short enough means the only come half way up my thighs, so need to go bigger to encompass said huge arse!

Today is was even trying to work out how I could rig a pair of braces using paper clips, rubber bands and a stapler!

I stopped wearing tights years ago because of this. IMO it's about conflicting forces. The foot is always going to pull them down. This combined with gravity means they always end up 1/2 way down your legs. Whatever size or shape you are

michellestub1965 · 08/05/2014 20:56

It's nearly summer

GlaikitFizzog · 08/05/2014 20:57

Still need tights. Can't do bare legs. Scottish = pale almost blue legs at all times!

Oh dear um trousers?

PeaceLillyDoge · 08/05/2014 21:04

I just put a pair of knickers over the top. Works a treat.

Shosha1 · 08/05/2014 21:04

I always wear two pairs of knickers :) one under one over

Clargo55 · 08/05/2014 21:05

I recommend Wolford. Always size up for tights. They are pricey, but never fall down imo.

I would never buy anything else now, they also last ages and wash really well.

stella69x · 08/05/2014 21:06

Wear hold ups, solves the gusset problem and your legs are still covered.

Winter I'm ok as thicker thoughts seem to stay up better, think woolly ones are best. But today was nude tights with nice spring style tea dress. I tend to wear dresses to work.

At least I can wear jeans tomorrow!

PickledPorcupine · 08/05/2014 21:13

I have a pair of very plain black bikini bottoms that go over my tights.

GlaikitFizzog · 08/05/2014 21:13

See I can also guarantee the the more I spend on a pair of tights the quicker I will ladder them!

drinkingtea · 08/05/2014 21:15

Stockings and suspender belt?

TheresLotsOfFarmyardAnimals · 08/05/2014 21:15

I totally superman it or stockings and suspenders are great and more hygienic

drinkingtea · 08/05/2014 21:16

Btw I have the same problem - leggings too, which I want to wear under long tunic/ dresses but can't :( Size 20 apple, no chance without a proper waist band :(

Saurus72 · 08/05/2014 21:18

I don't have any problems with M&S tights falling down - black opaques or sheer nude. I don't size up or down, just go with my normal size. I use body lotion on my legs every day - I wonder if that might help the tights 'stick' a bit? Sounds weird, probably not Hmm

BaconSarniePlease · 08/05/2014 21:51

Cotton pair under, light control shapewear over. Tights keep up all day and I feel great.

Roseformeplease · 08/05/2014 21:54

Get the support ones with the elastic top which are meant to hold your tummy, thighs wobbles in. These have transformed my life and I just buy the cheap M&S ones.

spookyskeleton · 08/05/2014 21:56

Mine constantly roll down over my flabby tum so everytime I stand up, they have rolled down and lodged themselves under my tum Angry

Drives me mad!!

Would a pair of knickers on top help with that??

GlaikitFizzog · 08/05/2014 22:03

Size 20 apple here too!

Ive had hold up horrors too. I'll go for superman style then!
