Advice for bra for dd aged 10

I've noticed my dd aged 10 is developing so decided to measure her using the underneath chest and then bending over and around fullest part method. I got 26" under and 30" around which I work out as being 26D. Surely this can't be? She's only ten and quite slender. Any advice would be great.

It's no problem, I've had far too many bad bra experiences over the years!

Ok have tried them and results are mixed. Both bras are Freya, but different styles. Bra A is a 28FF, that is snug but I probably could wear it, especially if it stretched as it was worn. It measures 23 and a half inches to the loosest hooks unstretched, and will stretch to 28 or slightly more at full stretch. Bra B is a 28G, so should have more room not less, but the band is tiny, I can do it up, but it is at absolutely full stretch and feels too tight. It measures 22 unstretched to the loosest hooks, and will only just stretch to a 27 at full stretch. I wore it once for about two hours and couldn't wait to get it off again, it was really uncomfortable. I haven't worn the other one as I think it was a bit small in the cup and I never got round to sending it back. Still has its tags on (I have drawers full of underwear like this, makes me go green to think how much money I have wasted on bras that don't fit. Enough for a lovely holiday I'm sure.

Ok. One thing to remember is that a lot of brands -Freya being one-change their bra and band styles at a gg cup. The bands get thicker and normally go up to 3 hooks which makes them that bit softer and stretchier and generally more comfortable. I'm tempted to say that you should try ordering a 28gg and h to try on just to see as it sounds like with cups out of the equation the 28 might be a better option for you.

Personally after far too many bad bras I now order things online and give them a longer try on around the house with tags on. I know I'm a bad person!

I order online as I live in the back of beyond! Although it does get annoying as it isn't easy to try on lots of styles at once, or a style in several sizes, unless I spend a small fortune. If the bands are wider, does that mean that the bra will be higher at the armpit though? As I find that particularly a problem on me.
Will go and order something from bravissimo in a 28GG /H, just to see the fit, even though I think that the Polish bras are maybe the way to go.

I've ordered a bra from Bravissimo in 28GG, the "check mate" style. It is a plunge though, so now I'm wondering if that was wise as a fitting sort of bra.

What about something like this:

I can't wear normal bras so live in those. They do them in small sizes and child versions too.

My post was aimed at those on page one talking about young teens, sorry for lack of clarification Blush

No, don't apologise, it is all my fault for hijacking the thread with my bra woes..

PixieofCatan · 15/05/2014 12:49

Nowt wrong with bra woes helly :) I hijacked a thread 18 months ago and after a trip to Bravissimo I've never regretted it :) Gutted that I can't wear proper bras for long any more but the crop tops fit much better than the 34Bs I was wearing before (I'm a 30DD).
