How much do you pay your hairdresser?

I currently use a hairdresser that charges £68 for a full head of foils, cut and blowdry. Then £9 for toner so £77 total.

Seven years ago I used to pay £120 so I think this is pretty good. I've also found places that aren't so good but charge around £30/40.

How much do you pay so I can compare if I'm paying too much please?! I don't think I am

SaltySeaBird · 04/05/2014 22:09

Amazing hairdresser who charges £30 for a full head of foil highlights. She does an amazing job.

littlegreengloworm · 04/05/2014 22:11

OneLittleLady · 04/05/2014 23:28

£28 for a wash, cut and blow dry. I colour my own hair and don't like it being straightened. I round up to £30. Yorkshire area

scarlettsmummy2 · 04/05/2014 23:37

£60 for a full head of foils and cut and blow dry. Mobile hairdresser. Edinburgh.

AliceInGallifrey · 04/05/2014 23:48

Full head colour , wash/blowdry and conditioning treatment in a salon, North East England £45

I've been to a more expensive place around £90 but I get better service in the £45 salon

TheMD · 05/05/2014 00:11

I pay £86 for a full head of foils, cut and straightening/styling. South-West.

Nowitscleanugobshite · 05/05/2014 00:16

Full head semi colour with crazy colour on top. Cut. Blow dry. £50. 10 miles east of Belfast-would be pricier in town.

KosherBacon · 05/05/2014 07:34

£68 for a hair cut and blow dry. I have tried cheaper places but always go back to her because she's awesome and I regret cheating on her.

Norfolknway · 05/05/2014 07:39

I used to pay £100 ish (North East)

Now I'm on mat leave I generally get a groupon for £30-40.

That's for half head of foils, cut and blow dry

chickydoo · 05/05/2014 07:40

I was going to a salon & was paying £175 ( gulp) was getting ridiculous, now a mobile lady comes and does the same for £80
She is not quite as good as the salon was, but I will deal with that as she is so much cheaper! (SE by the way)

whitewitchofnarnia · 05/05/2014 07:45

MY hair dresser friend does it for me and doesn't charge me, but I will proberly take her out for a meal to say thanks after, so the price of a meal.

rookiemater · 05/05/2014 07:48

Edinburgh - 38 for cut and blow dry plus 47 for half head of highlights.

Raskova · 05/05/2014 08:17

White witch, can she be my friend too???

Some of these prices are crazy but I'd say I definitely feel better about it now as she's obviously average price. She is great tho, as a person and a hairdresser. Grin

She's Northamptonshire btw

£30 for a full head foils and trim, mobile hairdresser who used to work in a top local salon so if I had been going there ,would have cost double at least
I prefer the informal way of getting hair done in my own home ,I would get quite intimidated sometimes with salon and all the waiting around
Im in Scotland

fitflopqueen · 05/05/2014 09:27

£60, northwest, half head foils, cut & blow/straighten

WildBill · 05/05/2014 09:41

£65 = tip for WCB.
My hair isn't colored.

Found someone who is great at cutting fine hair so happy to pay more than average. South Coast.

WildBill · 05/05/2014 09:41
  • tip that should have been
elQuintoConyo · 05/05/2014 09:57

€18 wash, cut, blowdry.
€36 ful dye, cut, blowdry (different place from the first, I wouldn't trust them with dying my hair!)

That works out at about £15/£30 in Britsh pence Smile

MarshaBrady · 05/05/2014 10:45

£55 to £80(!) depending on level of stylist. Central London so v expensive.

passmethewineplease · 05/05/2014 10:48

My hairdresser is mobile, for a full head of foils, and all over colour in between and a cut and blow it's £40, she is great and I am always happy with the results.

Going there tonight actually, can't wait, first time since dc2 was born! six month's ago

So glad to see the back of these roots!

GrassIsSinging · 05/05/2014 10:49

At the moment, far more than I can actually afford!

My stylist charges £90 for a cut and blowdry, and the colourist charges £150 to upkeep my dip-dye....but thry are both SO good, I end up finding the money from somewhere. I really dont want to spend this much, but it is SO important and I feel so much happier when my hair looks good. Grrr.

passmethewineplease · 05/05/2014 11:14

£90 for a cut and blow?! Shock
