Lightweight waterproof with (ugh) a hood. Not too warm!

There are always loads of threads about warm waterproof coats, but I need the opposite! I am a v hot person (in the sweaty, rather than the glamorous, sense) and need a lightweight waterproof for spring/summer that won't cook me gently.

And it needs to be waterproof and have a hood. I have finally, three DCs in, accepted that I can't carry an umbrella and marshall them all on the school run.

I'm thinking some kind of lightweight parka, but the fashiony ones are usually not terribly waterproof are they? Help!

I have ordered one! An Ilse Jacobsen, but in cream rather than olive. I'll update on how alarmingly sensible it looks....

Didrikson do a hooded trench - on phone but try Viking kids website.

So the Ilse Jacobsen one is kind of nice, and looks waterproof (taped seams etc), but is really thin so in the cream kind of results in white-jeans-syndrome (see through, and all the seam allowances etc are visible), which makes it look kind of cheap. I wouldn't care about that if it cost £25, but for £110 it seems a bit much...

Am now debating whether to order a Didriksons coat of some description (they all look the same though, so not entirely sure how one decides whether a thelma, a tilde or some other name is meant to be better), the target dry one linked upthread, the Ilse Jacobsen in the darker colour (feels really dark and wintery though) or something else. Sigh.

I have a Sprayway waterproof jacket that I wear for hiking and golf, although it isn't an actual golf jacket.

It's so light to wear and keeps me dry as I absolute hate getting wet!
