Am I the only person on S and B who finds cheapo ballet flats perfectly comfy even for trekking around the shops / work / toddler groups for hours? I am so baffled by all the requirements for footwear on here.

My feet are cheap dates - my two most worn pairs of shoes atm are from Primark! Fab oxblood woven sandals, and brown suede ballerinas. I have about 6 pairs of ballerinas varying from Bloch to Next to Peacocks and they're all honestly fine. My feet are made for walking Grin

i recently got some lovely green ones from office and they are super comfy

french sole are lovely but not for the fat of foot

TheJumped · 25/04/2014 22:35

These Yosi Samra ones on Outnet look good.

Link to green ones?

Haven't tried French Sole, I lust after the cheetah print ones with red edging but too £££ for me.

I regularly walk 10km and further in mine. Think my feet are so relieved not to be running they'll put up with any shit I throw at them.

Annoyingly, the first pair I ever bought were the best - leather, from H&M, a lovely pewtery silver and about £10. Eight years later they have been retired to slipper status but they are still so comfortable and look great from the outside.

My navy ballet flats from Clark's see me through Spring, Summer and Autumn.
I really don't understand the Converse thing.

PaperPomPom · 25/04/2014 23:54

I would love to wear cheaper ones, bit Primark ones have no support at all and hurt my legs/feet after problems years ago.

I'm in Clarks ballet pumps at the moment, I have a cream and tan pair I live in for walking about. If I could put up with the extra time it takes to wander to work in my heels from the station I would just wear them all the time.

QueenofLouisiana · 25/04/2014 23:59

I wore Johnnie B ballet flats all last summer. Loved them. I got them out for my Easter holiday and was almost sobbing at the end of a day wearing them. I have new ligament problems in one ankle so apparently won't be wearing them this year. sigh

Has anyone got the FitFlop ballerina?

I'm a massive fan of cheapo ballet flats but have just bought these from geox whilst on hols.

Not a brand if previously considered but I may be converted - they are so comfortable

Well, just be grateful, I have never been able to wear ballet flats (cheap or expensive) for more than the shortest periods, in fact it's hard finding any shoes that fit and are comfy (I live in sandals and boots mostly). My feet are very wide, even wide fit shoes are usually too tight. I dread shoe shopping.

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 26/04/2014 08:30

The geox ones do not look geoxie at all!

FiscalCliffRocksThisTown · 26/04/2014 08:32

I have wide feet with hammer toes (sexy lady!) and live in Gabor ballet flats. They offer support, very comfy yet sturdy, yet cute

Loveleopardprint · 26/04/2014 08:40

MsAsprey I have the fitflop due ballerinas in black patent. I wear them all the time as I have platar fascilitis. They took a bit of wearing in but I love them.

MairzyDoats · 26/04/2014 08:48

Ooh I love those Geox ones, have you got a link? [superlazy]

DesperateHousewife21 · 26/04/2014 08:53

I love ballet pumps too. Ive currently got a black patent Next pair and Ive just ordered a nude fabric DPs pair both for work.

I hate heels, cant walk in them and being 5"8 they just make me look too tall and awkward.

noisytoys · 26/04/2014 08:58

I must be heavy on my feet because if I wear very cheap shoes they start to look worn the same day. Not to mention that basics shoes aren't leather so don't mould to the feet the same. The only ballet pumps I have that I can wear any length of time are Hush Puppies

Trumpton · 26/04/2014 09:07

PastPerfect I have been trying to find those Geox this morning . Can you say where you got them please ?

Bunbaker · 26/04/2014 09:11

I need more support than ballet flats offer. I have some from Clarks that I can wear all day, but I wouldn't wear them for trekking around, but I would wear them for work. Unless I buy them half a size too small they just don't stay on my feet and I end up clawing my toes to keep them on.

Podiatrists hate ballet flats BTW.

Aque1ven · 26/04/2014 09:23

If you have wide feet have you seen this firm?
Here

I recently had to have ops on my foot & these were the only ones that were bliss while my foot was swollen. The magic is that they not only do wider widths, very wide even, but there's different depths of toe boxes to choose from to get a perfect fit. If you look through the site there are some good styles of ballets & sandals amongst others.

Pastperfect · 26/04/2014 09:59

I bought them in Barcelona last week - I did look on line before I posted but couldn't find a link. Sorry

Trumpton · 26/04/2014 10:00

Gah ! But thank you anyway .

KenDoddsDadsDog · 26/04/2014 10:00

Topshop ones are tremendous

Pastperfect · 26/04/2014 10:15

I also bought these at the same time and they are available online and super comfortable due to the higher front

I bought some French Sole ones once they were £££££ but gorgeous. Unfortunately after a few wears despite being cleaned and loved each time they soon had the scuffed worn down look of pairs I'd bought for a 5th of the price. Next is my go to place for ballet flats now, once in a blue moon I'll buy from another shop but never expensive ones! I live in them for casual.

WildThong · 26/04/2014 10:27

Another vote fore Gabor here. I got my first pair for going on holiday last year and tramping round cobblestone streets etc, it was like walking on puffy clouds Smile I think that the previously regarded as 'sensible' frumpy brands like Geox and Gabor have really raised their game. They both have lovely flats/ballets which even suit my difficult feet. You have to filter through the square toed solid shoes but there are some gems to be found.
There is an online shop called Clinkard that has a good range and often great sales.
