Am I the only person on S and B who finds cheapo ballet flats perfectly comfy even for trekking around the shops / work / toddler groups for hours? I am so baffled by all the requirements for footwear on here.

My feet are cheap dates - my two most worn pairs of shoes atm are from Primark! Fab oxblood woven sandals, and brown suede ballerinas. I have about 6 pairs of ballerinas varying from Bloch to Next to Peacocks and they're all honestly fine. My feet are made for walking Grin

I had foot surgery in November, and whilst I'm now medically fine, I'm a little over-protective about my foot, and have lost the inclination (and probably the ability!) to go outside much in heels.

I wear a small heel around the office (but there's no hazards like potholes or cracked, uneven pavements to negotiate) but change into ballet flats to head into town on my lunch hour.

I totally adore ballet flats, a pretty pair looks really young and fresh, and can take you practically any wear. M&S do some really soft ballerinas, as do Clarks and Office. I really like the look of French Sole, but they're a bit pricey. But I'm always interested in recommendations for any really soft ballerinas. If they're stiff and hard it defeats the object.

For casual wear, I've discovered Converse and Superga - I don't think I'll ever look back!

I used to be like the OP, then I got plantar fasciitis. Oh the agony! Add a bad back this year and I'm reviewing all my footwear. So sad that I can't wear my pretty shoes, and that my options are so narrow now.

Primark shoes cut the feet off me.

I've got some Gabors in a wide fitting, I can manage about half a mile walk in them before the pinching gets too much. They are for best only, not walking. Agree that the sole is lovely though.

My other big problem with ballet flats is the bows and flowers, I will tolerate a tiny bow but not a big one and wouldn't be seen dead with flowers on my shoes.

I have some Yosi Samra ones and they are super-comfortable but haven't lasted well (I actually bought them to wear in the house as slippers so they should have lasted for ages but it's been about 4 months and they're falling apart).

I had some topshop ones that were very soft and comfortable, I wore them to death though and can't seem to find anything similar now - also had Clarks ones but they were stiff and pinched my feet, and some primark ones which were soft but the soles were too thin.
Anyone want to tell me where I can get soft leather ballerinas that aren't too pricey?

I meant the outnet not net a porter. They were about £40.
