If you had to buy a temporary (fat) wardrobe, where would you shop?

DC2 now 3 months old. I have put on weight since giving birth so I am bigger than I ever have been before. I need some clothes that fit. Obviously I plan to lose weight but that might take a little while as I cannot exercise at the mo.

So, if you had to buy a short term wardrobe, where would you get it from. Cheap and flattering. Does such a place exist?

Previously I was size 14/16, now size 18/20. Most of the weight is on my tum and norks. Casual stuff only for now (back to work in summer and hopefully will have lost a bit by then).

Thank you!

I'd steer clear of Primark- they cut their sleeves very small.

Thank you so much for asking the question I should have asked. I am in the same situation. I had an extra choppy c section and my tum has not recovered much.

I'm trying to work out what I could realistically do about exercise and in a bit of a diet dilemma due to 150% bf (ie donating). I've just been invited to a wedding in August...

Lands End clearance for casual basics. Cut to American sizes so nice and roomy. It also all washes well which will be important for maternity leaveGrin

Do you mean Pink Cloves plinky? Just found the website. Reasonably priced. .. Maybe a top or 2 could wear there.

BOF ta for the tip. I haven't ever been in Primark Shock not sure why.

isabeller I have a wedding in 2 weeks. I'm in denial. Might have to wear jeggings.

Where does tops that are long enough? And stretchy enough to shove dd under??

My twin pregnancy tops were from Primark as some of the stretchy ones are quite long - do look there. Also, their jeans are very good. I bought my jeans from Uniqlo, so they are worth checking, too.

Gin sorry would help if I named the right website! Pink Cloves is the one I meant. I thought I might try out one of their wrap dresses as I need workwear too but some great suggestions on thread so getting lots of other ideas too. Thanks for starting the thread

Crazy Clearance. It sells loads of simply be stuff very cheaply.

Firstly I'd start with a jersey maxi dress in navy or black- they have them here but size up as they are not generous and you want it to skim. I am talking about a column straight up and down one in jersey. Layer over this, so jumpers when cool and tops when warmer-but go for slightly over size to create a flattering line. Bung on silver bangles or a long pendant.

This works with converse, boots or Birkies.

Re jumpers- look in Next Clearance. They have a long line one for £8 that is really flattering- it's the one in a cashmere mix.

Linen t-shirts are good as you can layer up and still remain cool when the weather gets hotter.

Boden is good for longer tops and their Breton is good this year.

Cheers mingebag good tips. Don't think maxi dresses will work for bfing but maybe I could achieve something similar with a long skirt?
