How exactly is the new big hair different to the old one

Mine too. It broke this morning. Didn't realise there was a new one. Do you mean the smaller barrel one? Or is there a completely new one?

Mine broke last month, was still in the 3 year guarantee so I sent it back to them and the next day I got a "NEW" big hair in the post (very good customer service) and it's much the same but much quieter and bit less bulky.

Yes, there is now a choice in barrel size - a smaller one for bob-length hair, and a bigger one (the original size) for longer hair. Prefer the original.

I think it's got some new made-up 'ionic technology'. It makes a slightly different noise to the old one, like a faint hissing? My original one didn't blow up, but it seems to be taking long to dry/slower to turn/generally not as good, so I replaced it, and the new one does seem a bit better. Sorry, not very specific!

Mine's stopped turning well too - didn't realise it had a 3 year guarantee either. Don't think I've kept the box tho so I reckon I'm screwed.

I was lucky that I had kept the box and the amazon receipt was helpfully tucked inside it.

I'm worried now that I'm saying the wrong length of guarantee, I'm sure it was 3 years as I remember thinking that I was a very long time

Mine stopped turning very well and eventually stopped turning altogether and smoke poured out of it. I phoned the number in the booklet and they gave me a reference number and an address to send it to and that was it.

I posted mine on a Monday at 3pm and had the new one Wednesday morning. I was surprised how quickly it was all sorted.

I replaced it with the "new" one, with a smaller barrel, which suits me better actually.

I've ordered a new one from amazon. The original was a present from DH about 3 years ago. I never used it until recently (when I read about it on here)
The one I've ordered is the 'new' 50mm one, it has black buttons rather than purple. I'm looking forward to it arriving tomorrow as I can't do a thing with my fringe today! The Big Hair is brilliant at straightening out & taming my ridiculous fringe

So lego and handbag can I get a new one even if I can't find the receipt? Mine rotates really slowly these days. Probably about half the speed of when I first got it (about 2 years ago). I still have the box but not the receipt.

I'm not sure Villa I had my receipt, don't know how that happened as I never manage to keep the receipts usually! It can't hurt to phone them and ask? They ask for the serial number that is on the wee sticker on the cord and can tell from that how old it is I think.

Wow, good timing on this. Mine stopped turning properly last week. Had another go today and figured I'd have to buy a new one. But I'm sure it's 2 yrs old so will have a go and digging out the receipt. Thanks OP!
