Melon - I am 5'4" - are you taller than me? Agree w pretty much everything you have said here today: Gap, Zara and Oasis (although I have found a few cotton things, mainly the cotton pencil skirts).

I raced through Banana Republic on Kings Road today to look for shoes. Turns out they are all at Regent St. Live and learn. I did see this gorgeous cotton lace dress (comes in off white, too), though. Not workwear. I will go to the Regent St store soon and report back.

That Jack Wills skirt looks perfect for me - I wear tight stuff, casually.

Am a bit disappointed in M&S's general approach to taking feedback, which seems to be "ignore and continue making mistakes".

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/05/2014 19:59

Oh I love a white jacket. Bought marantalike that liberty linked too today and have new white jeans. Will wear them to work when at goal weight in a few weeks.

Love that indigo lace top.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:01

What white jacket, MrsCB? I'm still v disappointed that the Mango ones I just bought looks so bad on me. Back it goes, and my quest continues.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:07

I'm a leggy 5.7. Or 1m 70 as I like to say ;)

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:10

I am a loyal marks fan and don't join in the bashing but apart from autograph which they have really presented well there was little to inspire. Some effort made with their smart range - workwear stuff can't remember the official name - it was meh. Indigo which I always think is for your average SAHM is fast going the way of per una. Too frilly.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:11

Cb have you got the lace top? It's really pretty. I wear with primark black skinnies and a gap boyfriend blazer.

If anyone's a short arse size 14 they can have my shortened one gratis

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:13

Oh tried on some pale pink jeans in Zara. Hilariously naked.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2014 20:14

Autograph used to be lovely, and Autograph Weekend even better, but the fabrics are mostly so awful now and much of it is so long. Very samey season to season too.

A shame, as I really want to buy more at M&S, as I like its convenience and the fact that they are mostly reasonably priced.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:24

And sizing predictable. Shoes have come on leaps and bounds. Yes I think I always admire the merchandising of autograph but rarely buy. Used to love weekend.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 04/05/2014 20:25

I don't find the sizing predictable - can be anything from an 8 to a 14 in there, which is why I've given up with ordering online!

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:26

Yes. Maybe I'm imagining it. cries

Hello ladies, I've been enjoying this thread, all v entertaining and useful.

I have a quick q for those of you with the Sam Edelman Adenas. I can be either a 4 or a 5, but the site Belinda linked to only has them in 4 - but how do they come up in your opinion? Is it worth a punt or do they generally come up small? Thank you in advance.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:38

I love some of the Autograph shoes. Lovely and well priced.

Meant to say - love those pale blue Zara trousers. I tried them on in bright yellow and really liked the fit.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:39

I don't remember them looking as loose as the site. I've squirrelled away in H's wardrobe for my birthday this week

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:40

I wear my Adenas in US 9/UK 7, and I am a 39.5 - 40. So, unfortunately, I think you need to size up/stick w your normal size, don't size down. But do a google or eBay search as they often come up, on sale.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:41

They weren't as loose on me as on the model. As per usual. No judgment, but you have a few things squirrelled away for, your birthday?

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:42

The jacket and those.
We are getting a new bed really.

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:43

Btw - Shock as models revealed to be skinny

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:44

Get a bed w drawers underneath - best use of dead space ever. DH has no clue as to how many clothes I have tucked away, in those drawers.

Yes, I was astounded that I am not actually model thin Grin

MrsCampbellBlack · 04/05/2014 20:45

Spooky, I tried pale pink khakis in gap and did the naked thing too!

White jacket is j crew as they do good petite range and good discount too.

I would like some d'orsay heels but no more than 3 inches in a pretty colour and of course some dresses for summer suitable for casual workplace. But no cleavage and not mini and work on an apple, tis my holy grail item.

Dh away so catching up on my Mormon housewife blogs

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:48

Link, please! I love a good chuckle at the crazy stuff some people spend their time and energy on!

MelonKim · 04/05/2014 20:51

Yes. We already have drawers. One is scarves. One is bags and one is presents.

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 04/05/2014 20:51

I had flesh coloured (pink / peach) skinnies last summer, and always felt odd when I wore them. That's because I looked naked, no doubt. Not a good idea. They are now gone.

I might go look at Zara soon for white jackets, as this is the second spring/summer that it have been looking for a casual one for.
