I've just ordered some straight midwash jeans from next, and I just wondered what sort of jeans were 'in'. Please tell me what sort your all wearing.

I wearing topshop blue vintage wash Jamie jeans. They are skinny, stretchy but quite high waisted so they keep in the mum tum. I've always preferred the Leigh jeans, but since having a baby the Jamie jeans are a better fit for me. I've never found a pair of jeans that fit as well as topshop jeans.

lots of different styles and brands on the go

asos boyfriends with patches on
goldsign skinnies - in grey and very dark indigo blue - i like skinnies with pointed flats or trainers in the summer
j brand skinnies
diesel straight legs - one ripped lighter wash, one dirty dark rinse
very pale blue james skinnies in a couple of sizes too big

I'd like another pair of boyfriend jeans and some white relaxed skinnies.

cottonwoolmum · 16/04/2014 14:01

M&S Eva dark straight legged jeans. Best cut ever for pear shapes. Only thing I buy in M&S these days, but they are gold dust.

BellaVita · 16/04/2014 14:08

French Connection super skinny fit.

Fantastic fit.

bettykt · 16/04/2014 14:09

I'm rebelling today and wearing some dark indigo Next bootcut jeans, nice and comfy after what seems a lifetime of wearing grey skinnies, I fancied a change but I don't think they are in though. From reading s&b relaxed skinnies/boyfriend/distressed jeans are in, not sure if they're me though as I'm short and don't think rolled up jeans suit me.

dexter73 · 16/04/2014 14:34

I am wearing Levis skinnies today. I also wear their slim leg like OryxCrake. I am a big fan of Levis!
Have also been wearing boyfriend jeans recently from Uniqlo and cropped straight jeans from Gap which were £19.99 in store, and finally the Next relaxed skinnies.

MissBeehiving · 16/04/2014 14:36

Today - Gap always skinny ripped distressed ankle grazers

Gap skinny ankle grazers in dark denim.

What are we supposed to wear if skinnies are out? Not bootcut (sorry MrsMeow & bettykt), so what cuts does that actually leave??

Please not boyfriend - I am a pear and they just look like normal-sized but extremely frumpy jeans on me Grin

MarshaBrady · 16/04/2014 15:24

Still skinnies longish or to the ankle.

Bunbaker · 16/04/2014 15:24

cottonwoolmum did they shrink? I like the M & S jeans because they suit my pear shape, but I have never bought a pair of jeans from M & S that haven't shrunk. (and no I haven't put on weight, they got too short as well Grin)

Bunbaker · 16/04/2014 15:25

"What are we supposed to wear if skinnies are out? Not bootcut (sorry MrsMeow & bettykt), so what cuts does that actually leave??"

Slim or straight jeans. I am pear shaped and they are flattering on me.

PoundingTheStreets · 16/04/2014 15:31

Skinnies (various manufacturers) and some straight/slim fit from Next.

I think the best pair of jeans is the pair that suits your shape rather than the latest fashion though. I am short so baggy jeans make me look squat and bootcut only work if I am wearing booted heels so the bottom of the leg flares in the right place.

OneLittleLady · 16/04/2014 15:31

various skinnies in rotation along with a single pair of slim bootcuts in black. Someone told me once that I was too fat for skinnies so I politely told them to fuck off, fashion is for everyone regardless of shape or size

Geneticsbunny · 16/04/2014 15:35

looks like top shop is a good bet for jeans then. can anyone recommend some really smart looking jeans? love the name oryxcrake one of my favourite authors.

Respeck Grin

ImAThrillseekerBunny · 16/04/2014 15:43

Gap high rise skinnies and Real Straights plus one eye-wateringly expensive pair of Paige skinnies. Levi's Bold Curve Straight and Salsa Secret Arse Lifters for when I don't want to be trussed up in skinnies. Recently had a huge belated clearout of all my old boot cuts and replaced them with skinnies in the GAP sale, which signifies to the rest of the world that skinnies are well and truly O V E R.

SquidgyMaltLoaf · 16/04/2014 15:52

I used to love my New Look dark blue skinnies (absolute bargain, wore them to death) but am currently in H&M maternity skinnies. Which I will still wear after the baby comes because they allow for much ice cream eating

deXavia · 16/04/2014 15:59

I was firmly in a skinnies rock - Gap, H&M (very nice stretch), 7 for mankind and Calvin Klein. But recently been wearing mainly Gap Boyfriend cut but a size down from my usual so not too baggy. However I posted before I recently rediscovered my Gap long and lean bootcuts and with a pair of wedges - they really are hugely flatteringly.

Maisie0 · 16/04/2014 15:59

As I am a shortie too. I have a lot of dark Navy New Look Bootleg jeans. They are not too flarey, and kind of has a skinny effect on me. I also have a A&F mid-waist jean as well. That's my lot. It took me a long while to understand what works and not. That was before the skinny jeans became popular. The A&F is made from nice cotton and it feels nice to the skin, but they are not dark colour jeans. Whereas the NL ones are dark and matches more clothing, and their stretch allows me to put on a bit of weight without worrying. I also have some inherited Howies too from my sister, ready as maternity wear. My old levis, and all the previous jeans from pre-30 I have thrown away.

deXavia · 16/04/2014 16:00

skinnies "rut" not "rock"

fitflopqueen · 16/04/2014 16:12

Levis slight curve, slim leg in black and dark navy, definate better fit.
also several Gap pairs - long & lean and have some DP black ones too - slim fit.
I am chunky of thigh and the Levis are the best fit.

FreeButtonBee · 16/04/2014 17:01

Gap sexy boyfriend jeans. Have in two sizes - one tight, one slightly looser. Nice and loose on the thigh but not too much fabric on the leg and great rolled up.

Also have a million pairs of Uniqlo skinnies but they are a bit wintery now I think plus have put on 5lb so a bit fat for them

cottonwoolmum · 16/04/2014 17:40

LOL Bunbaker - you do know that eating cake makes your legs shoprter too, don't you? No they haven't shrunk. The opposite in fact. the denim is very soft and so they stretch. Not a problem if you wash them after every wear or two wears, but our washing machine broke down and after four wears they were very baggy even around my enormous thighs!

CointreauVersial · 16/04/2014 18:11

Skinnies (in a variety of colours and washes; faves are from Zara). Worn turned up to 7/8 in the summery weather.

Or boyfriends. Not ripped, though; that feels wrong at 47.

I feel like one of The Osmonds in bootcuts - just wrong.
