how old were you when you started dyeing your hair because if grey, rather than fashion?

Because the hair dresser today seemed in captures about my naturally coloured hair vs my age (36) vs about 2 grey hairs
Both my parents went grey in their 20s
I am not sure what has happened as I am stressed to the hilt, generally

I am sure it can't be that unusual. I am light brown/dark blonde

I started going grey at 17, now 38 and mostly grey

DH hasn't got a grey hair on his head at 39 bastard

about 25 for highlights, and 31 switched to full head but done at home not in a salon, am now 43 and have been dying regularly for 12 years so far. i still think of my natural colour as dark blonde but i bet it's mostly grey now. i dye it blonde so don't veer far from my roots.

I'm 41 and have a little cluster of a few greys at my right 'sideburn' (what IS that bit called?!). I now get the odd one popping up in my parting too but i'm a sort of strawberry auburn so they blend in... hoping to get a few more years out of my hair... at least till the kids are old enough to give me enough time to start messing around with dye!!

No grey yet (40 in June) but my Mum hasn't got any either and she's 63.

Believe me, we'd notice as she gets her hair done about once a year, if that!!!

I ought to but can't afford to stay abregular payment and don't trust myselfvdoing it at home! 35. White wirey bits down the middle.

I had my first greys in my early 20's. Now at 38 I need to keep on my dying my roots, especially at the temples where they are most noticeable. I think I'm probably well over 50% grey now. I hate having to dye so very envious of you lucky people with no grey!

27 ish first grey. About 35 put a colour on to cover the few greys as they are in visible places. Wouldn't bother but when you have dark hair they stand out. If everyone else went grey it wouldn't be so bad!

Lol Zoo - I love getting on a bit - can wear purple and everything and generally get away with more stuff :)

Saw my first proper greys at 36 and will probably start dying in the next year or so, I'm now 39. There's just a few spread along my hair line at the front for the most part, I'm happy with that for now.

I'm dark brown and started dying around 33 - agree with whoever said they show more in dark hair.

But I only used semi-permanent for first few years, only just started using permanent this yr aged 39 as was only getting about 3 weeks coverage with the semi.

52 and no grey yet !

It is about the only good thing about my appearance though, so I'm allowed to gloat.

Started using semi permanent in my early 20's, by 27 I needed permanent dye to cover it.
41 now, and gloriously white and grey!

im 37 and only noticed greys in about the last 6 months, although have dyed/highlighted my hair since I was about 20 so maybe I just didn't notice them before?

I'm 51 and have a few strands of grey ,have been dyeing my hair al sorts of colours for yrs , my natural colour is a very dull dark brown.

My mum is 80 this year and her hair has lost colour but not really greay more of a putty colour...she dyes it as well.

My eyelashes and brows are greyer though

My eyelashes and brows have gray hairs but not yet in my hair...I'm 38.

My first greys were at 15 and the white temples came through by my mid twenties.
