Loved DW for years but like you couldn't get on with the new formula...have tried the following alternatives to DW in no particular order....
Double Wear Light - Lasts as long as DW, far lighter coverage but found it very hard to blend (even more than DW for some reason) so often got patchy looking areas on my face.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra - Bloody brilliant for the first week (and great selection of colours too) but completely dried my skin out ( I think it has a very high alcohol content) so had to return it. The SA was getting a bit awkward until she looked at my skin and realised that she couldn't argue with me as it was an absolute state.
Dior Forever - Very long wearing, reasonable colour selection. But oxidised like hell on me after a couple of hours so I ended up looking slightly "tangoed". I've read online about some people getting a shade lighter than their skin tone to overcome this problem but as I needed the very lightest shade in the first place that didn't really help me !
No 7 Beautifully Matte - Very decent foundaiton for the money, good colour match for me ( I was the palest shade again, Calico I think). Looked lovely initially but kind of sat on my skin even though I tried to buff it in. Became a wee bit patchy as the day went on.
Revlon Colourstay - I'm using this at the moment and overall I quite like it. Good selection of colours, doesn't change colour, very good coverage, lasts just as long as the DW. Can get a wee bit patchy but I'd trying to overcome this by only doing one small section of my face at a time rather than blobbing it on all over. I use Nivea's Hydration Primer thingy, let it dry in then use Lanacane, let it dry in then apply with the Real Techniques brush. I'm also trying to use less powder to see if it helps with the cakeiness...(is that a word ?)
Not sure that there is such a thing as the perfect foundation anymore.....
