Going out for a girlie dinner later - nothing fancy but I'm lacking outfit inspiration.

What would you wear?

I very rarely wear high heels (although I own lots!!) but like to wear a small heel when I'm out, because i feel abit more glam and elegant. I'm short and round and I feel a heel makes me appear taller and slimmer!

daimbardiva · 21/02/2014 17:19

I just like the way heels make me feel. I feel more elegant and put together in them and feel like they can really lift an outfit. Am already v tall so don't need the height

burnishedsilver · 21/02/2014 19:14

I like flats for day time and heels for night time. I don't feel dressy in flats.

LittleYellowDuck · 21/02/2014 19:16

Grey skinny jeans
Pewter stiletto heels
Black jersey top
Statement necklace
Black biker jacket
(wore this last night for girls dinner )

Poly how do you know your miles older than me?

I wear heals because I am short and pear shaped so heals make me look taller and slimmer and elongate my legs (which are chunky and fat)

Normally what I have worn to work! Pencil skirt, ballet shoes or heels if I've been out to customer and a bit of extra make up on eyes and lips!

What's a wiggle dress please?

Hopefully · 22/02/2014 07:38

I am sat here at 8 months pregnant wishing I had the need and the inclination for a dinner out outfit! Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/02/2014 07:47

If it involves walking more than about 100m or any risk of having to stand, eg in a bar, then heels are out for me. Usually I walk into town (1/2 mile) so it has to be flats. I'm getting a lift to one tonight, might dig out the heels but probably won't.

GretaWolfcastle · 22/02/2014 07:53

sitting

ShatzePage · 22/02/2014 09:39

To the poster who asked-a wiggle dress is a very fitted dress, like a pencil dress. Very retro looking and I presume called that because you walk with a wiggle when you wear them?

DuchessFanny · 22/02/2014 10:10

I wear heels going out because I'm 5" tall and they make me feel taller ( obvs !) leaner and a bit more put together. Saying that I wore flats the last time I had dinner with friends as I was tram-ing instead of taxi-ing home and wanted the comfort !

newpup · 22/02/2014 10:20

Same as others I wear heels as I am very short so feel good in them. Don't wear them most days so they make me feel dressed up!

MrsCampbellBlack · 22/02/2014 15:50

I always wear heels as am short. And the fashion press can say flats are 'it' as much as they like but all the photos I've seen of journalists at LFW - well they're all in heels.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/02/2014 16:00

I wear little fold up shoes to catch the train, change into heels, then back into little fold up things when I've danced too much or when ready to go home.

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 22/02/2014 16:07

Ok..on Weds night I went out for curry with work girls and wore
Black and white striped tshirt with black leather sleeves and trim
Black leather jeggings
Black, unstructured boyfriend blazer
Black and white houndstooth print shoe boots.
Plus nice jewellery et voila.
