This is a picture of me and my hair!

Excuse the crap picture of my miserable face, I loath having my photo taken but needs must! There is one of my hair up for face shape and one down.

I need to do something with my mop, I have booked a hairdresser but if I don't ask you lot first I'll go and get an inverted bob then grow it straight out because I don't like it much.

Things to consider;

The expanse of forehead that I have
I don't have oodles of time to 'fix' it every morning
It's thick, way thicker than it looks, thick enough to make hairdressers charge me extra Hmm

So, what do you suggest I go for? Currently it gets slung up in a messy bun with a few strands down my face to hide mount forehead but that's getting old now.

I think some of these would look good, also on the vison express website you can upload your own pic and "try on" glasses.

My dh tried n loads at vision express then found the exact same pair online at a fraction of the cost.

I would go for a Lea Michele my hair idol thick fringe, and wave the rest.

Jeez, I had not even seen that you've already linked to Lea Michele. I am a doofus.

Sorry, one more post Grin That's the look I am going for, and I already have the fringe but not the length, so I can't let it go wavy yet.

My hair sounds like yours in terms of texture and thickness and I've had these cuts before which worked.

The Frankie from the Saturday's one I loved and was really easy day to day.

I love that Lilly one!

My friend just volunteered this as a suggestion. I like it but I'm not sure if I'm more in love with the colour and Hayley's lovely smile than the hair on me. Grin

I'm not sure I'm that brave! I always go in thinking I'll get it cropped then chicken out and ask for the usual Blush

I like having the option to put it up for when I'm doing DS1's IV antibiotics and the like. Smile

I know it makes hair more complicated if you don't have a fringe but I love high foreheads. I have a low caveman forehead and it gives me very limited fringe options. I like squoosh's suggestion, if you can't get your hair to do a side parting.

I think the Lea Michele fringe would suit you well.

I think the now you have linked to looks a bit dated, where as the lily or Lea micheals one is more up to date.

What do you think of the specs?

A pixie cut like Jennifer Lawerence would suit you or a shorter Jean Seberg style.

Nice thick sweeping side fringe and long, layered bob. BBh. Sorted. You'll look gorge!

Full ish fringe I reckon plus you would really suit shorter hair or much longer. I have a similar shape face and the mid / shoulder length doesn't suit me. Long layers. Longer than chin .

Definitely a side parting with a sweeping fringe, cut to shoulder length with layers, more Layers in the front, really like the lily Allen and Christine ricci photos. Hope you post an after photo.

Have you evert thought about having a very loose curl perm?

Not so much to have waves or curls but to give extra root lift.

I have very thick medium length hair and had a perm over a decade ago. I'm sure my now many years fairly straight hair has had more lift/ body ever since.

The first pic that burnishedsilver posted would look lovely.

Do you have à recommended hair dresser?

Coumarin · 11/02/2014 00:31

You'd really suit a fringe. A proper one. None of your side sweepy business. The first pic Squoosh put up would look great on you.

Yes Lea M or Taylor Swift type fringe. Even a pulled back ponytail looks 'done' when you have a fringe. You can just do a fringe wash in between hair washes and it looks like you washed all your hair. I'm a big fringe fan.

If you do get one, check out Sali Hughes website where she has a video on how to blowdry a fringe so it falls perfectly. It's genius.
