I can't decide if they are 'me'

Russell and Bromley

My husband thinks they are hideous Blush

They look sturdy. That's the nicest thing I can think to say about them.

Onesleeptillwembley · 25/01/2014 23:02

I looked and closed the link quickly. Then went back to check they really were that bad. They are. Grin

Dontlaugh · 25/01/2014 23:11

They are shocking.
Don't attempt to buy them.

smilerc · 25/01/2014 23:26

I have the clarks brogues and they are so comfy and I love them!

I have to say that clarks do some similar to the ones the OP is asking about and I really like them. They are a very similar style but more feminine looking. They are also a lot cheaper. Might be worth looking at. Office do some too which my much younger and very stylish friend bought. www.clarks.co.uk/p/20355374 These are the clarks ones and they are on offer!

Nombrechanger · 25/01/2014 23:29

They are funky und nasty.

vestandknickers · 25/01/2014 23:31

Cripes! Your DH is right.

HyvaPaiva · 25/01/2014 23:31

ButICantaloupe · 25/01/2014 23:48

Nombrechanger, my DH is very happy. You have just saved him £175 and a lot of embarrassment

OP posts:
Nombrechanger · 25/01/2014 23:58

Tell him you're going to still spend that amount but on at least 3 pairs of shoes!! that don't belong to men [grins]

Nombrechanger · 25/01/2014 23:59

[grins] even!

Nombrechanger · 26/01/2014 00:00

Oh shit, I need to go to bed! Grin

ButICantaloupe · 26/01/2014 00:05

Grin I will probably buy another, less hideous, pair from Russell and Bromley. I'll listen to DH in future Grin

Sa88yt1ts · 26/01/2014 00:07

Hahaahaha! I fricking love MN but i hate those shoes OP Smile

cardamomginger · 26/01/2014 00:08

I think they are fine if you are Agyness Deyn or Alexa Chung. But probably in black, ox blood or dark brown.

Hard to pull off and not look like an unmarried maths teacher or librarian from the 1970s.

ButICantaloupe · 26/01/2014 00:15

Brilliant! I'll take that as encouragement cardamomginger

Excellent, I will buy them tomorrow Grin

Sometimes we need to resisit temptation. Those shoes make me think you'd smell of mothballs. I am sorry! Thanks I am sure that you do not smell of moth balls! The links to the Clark's shoes are much more fashionable.

mathanxiety · 26/01/2014 02:48

My mum would have wanted me to wear them to school in 1980.

HTH

Smile
AdorabeezleWinterpop · 26/01/2014 03:50

If it helps, I love them! I might not wear them, though, if you see what I mean?

I have the Clarks Hamble Oak and I can highly recommend them!
