Please give me your opinion - do I want to spend £50 on a cloak from a charity shop?

Which I may or may not wear. At 48 I'd have trouble pulling it off, but it's soooo lovely - really heavy and well made. Think Scottish Widow style - but sadly I don't look a bit like her. And they've put it aside till this morning .....

Chalk no I wouldn't buy it on the High St but I think the thing I like about it is that it's old and you don't see many like it. Badger in my dreams I'd be the sort of person that made money flogging stuff but I tried it a couple times with dds clothes and never did. I suppose if I were younger I might try and carry it off - I think I may run the risk of just looking witchy but it's one of those things that's so nice just to have. I'm thinking dds may want to wear it one day. Although they have said they won't come out with me if I wear it. But then we're not joined at the hip.

If you have £38 to spend, buy it. From the way you write about it, it sounds as though you love it. You might never wear it and you already know it's whimsical. It doesn't matter if it's a silly purchase or an expensive mistake, as long as you're not going to be destitute because of it. You're a grown woman and if grown women can't just choose something because it speaks to them sometimes, what the hell is wrong with the world?

If you have £50 to waste, I'd say yes! Just think... it's in the charity shop for a reason. I'd imagine someone looking like Mary Poppins in it. Mind you, I can't bear cloaks or capes and think they look ridiculous on anyone, even young slim things. They do nothing for boobs and they just look odd. Sorry

No. It will take up valuable storage space in your house and serve no purpose. It will just be clutter.

If you go out in the evenings I would get it, as you can wear it over your dress (I have always wanted such a cloak for such a purpose), or if you have the space as it sounds fabulous. But make sure you smell it in case of mildew smells...
