I am ashamed to say I went a bit crazy. In my defence, I was on a spending ban from dec 2012 until Nov 2013. I've ended up spending almost 2 weeks' wages. Wallet has closed for the next 6 months at least.

What shall I do for penance? Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa....

Oh and some Ash yellow ballet flats £99 to £29

Apatite1 · 08/01/2014 19:46

Oh I like that rich tea! Bit more interest than the plain black Alexa. Not that I'd turn down a plain one either!

Am waiting on a pair of boots I covet to buggery in H&M as have seen nothing elsewhere like them, and they'll have to wait Sad as I promised Ds I'd use my Christmas money to go halfs on a second PS3 with him. Grin

However, if I get the boots eventually that is me me pretty much set till next year as long as I don't lose anymore weight Smile

Oh ffs!!

Xmas money from my DF

HoneyDragon · 08/01/2014 19:53

I only shop in the sales for basic items I've decided I need. As otherwise they are a bit shite. The vest was my only "oooooooooh WANT" moment and I can live with wasting £2 Grin

RichTeaAreCrap · 08/01/2014 20:06

I am still getting used to it Apatite, I usually go for plainer bags. Not my normal type of bag at all but I am liking it more everyday.

Specialbrew · 08/01/2014 20:11

A1 love the Sophie Hulme bag, gorgeous colour

ShreddedHoops · 08/01/2014 20:12

Hobbs black dress £50 from £130ish
Me and Em burgundy ruched dress £40 from £90
Black courts from Jones Bootmaker £35 from £70
Selected Femme grey jumper with a blue speech bubble on, totally escapes me what it says in it and it hasn't arrived yet Hmm £25 from £70

Quite well behaved and all online as I haven't had time to hit the shops and I find them stressful nowadays when I used to find them calming.

I usually get loads from Hush but I wasn't inspired this time round. Iirc they do a second cut, hoping to bag some jammies then.

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/01/2014 20:14

That's lovely RichTeaAreCrap...really pretty

I do love a had MadBusLady - there was a thread here just the other day bemoaning the lack of had wearing so I shall endeavour to rectify that!

madmomma · 08/01/2014 22:56

Ooh MrsCobbit you did well with that cash. Envy@ the anglomania dresses!

JessMcL · 08/01/2014 23:00

I save up for my clothes over a 18 month period and then buy in the winter/summer sales (so a new winter/summer wardrobe every 3 years). This year I spent just under £2k- but that included 3 coats, 5 pairs of shoes, 4 pairs of decent jeans and a new bag. That will be it until Summer 2015.

I spent about £300 on the kids at NEXT on Boxing day. Again- I save and shop in the sales.

RevoltingPeasant · 08/01/2014 23:05

I bought two awful Xmas jumpers as I've been coveting one for a while. They are cut though!

Also a White Co pillow as I've needed a new pillow for ages and they were down to £24!

And 3 new bras.

DH always waits for the sales to stock up on socks.

But it will all be used, a lot!

RevoltingPeasant · 08/01/2014 23:06

Cute not cut!!

justasecond · 08/01/2014 23:55

Feel a bit better now that I am not the only one to have spluged. I bought quite a lot but everything was on my wishlist/sales targets.

mathanxiety · 09/01/2014 06:13

I also bought a pillow! Reduced to less than a fiver from about six times that. It has a foam interior and it's soft around that. I am ever buying another horrible pillow again. This one is lovely.

Also:
Top for DD4 'additional half off reduced price FINAL SALE' sparkly navy
Sweater for me, same sort of deal, navy
Two long sleeved Ts for me, one white, one baby blue
Long black cardigan for me

Total came to about €50. I save in Scrooge-like fashion for sales and buy basics that will go with anything, plus the occasional treat for the DDs.

BellaVita · 09/01/2014 06:24

A dress from AllSaints which was reduced to £119.

Some Laura Mercier bath/body stuff x 2 (one to give as a present to a friend for her birthday at the end of this month).

Two lots of perfume.

Not much really.

claudeekishi · 09/01/2014 10:34

Got a Cos T-shirt for nine quid. I find that these days I'm more likely to buy nice bits for my wardrobe mid-season with 20% off codes than in the all-out sales. If I were saving up specially to buy in the sales I would be going for stuff like boots, coats, outdoor clothing, and good bras and underwear. I think it's hard to find nice dresses, tops and trousers in the sales bloodbath, be it online or in the shops.

On a spending ban til March, but I still find myself putting things in online baskets and then X-ing out the window without putting through an order. It's therapeutic :) Just been to Maje, and so nearly bought these oiled skinnies. Have a pair in a rusty colour and they're a really good skinny fit.

EasterHoliday · 09/01/2014 10:37

so. Should I return this: www.matchesfashion.com/product/158792, and if so, is that justification to buy these instead: www.net-a-porter.com/product/386335

GossamerHailfilter · 09/01/2014 11:45

Just got a very nice Cynthia Rowley cardigan from TK Maxx for £13.00.
