Need a miracle concealer... but fear polyfilla is my only hope

It has come to my attention that six years of sleepless nights and running around after little people has taken it's toll in a very big way. I look wiped/washed out. The biggest problem appears to be the horrible dark circles and thinness under my eyes..... so I need a very decent concealer to hide it all. Any recommendations? I am willing to splash a bit of cash on something which is amazing and which also lasts.

(I am currently using YSL Touche Éclat but it's almost run out, and has not really been up to the job in the last few months).

Ps: If it helps I am 35 and have a fair, almost freckly complexion.
Ta in advance.

You need this Collection 2000 one!

It's amazing. Much better than all the expensive ones. It's a bit of a makeup artist's secret!

dontcallmemam · 01/01/2014 14:20

I might be able to help.
A few weeks ago I posted a similar problem. I was finding concealer didn't really work on my horrible dark circles.
I was directed to Bobbi Brown 'corrector' and it really works. Maybe worth a look?

I've stopped using concealer. I just apply my foundation then go over anything that needs extra coverage with a concealer brush dipped in my usual, foundation.

For under eyes I would give collection 2000 illuminating concealer a to, I prefer it to touché éclat because the shades whilst fewer are way less yellow than touché éclat. I used touché éclat for years but wasn't completely happy with the colour and when I discovered collection 2000's one, I found it to be much better. And cheaper!

plentyofsoap · 01/01/2014 14:29

I agree with collection 2000. It concealed post baby dark shadows and stays put.

Are these better?

Thanks very much for all your help.

whoops, wrong thread!

lovelychops · 01/01/2014 15:37

Watching your thread with interest Rainbow, could have written your post. I'm on a quest to find the most powerful of concealers...

So far have tried;
Garnier - ok
Nars - meh
Bobbi brown - let down
Benefit erase paste - good but didn't last all day
Boujour - meh
Max factor pan stick - not strictly concealer but good

Best one so far is the new benefit one which moisturises at the same time. Still a bit too light for my panda eyes.

Will try collection 2000 after recommendations on here though. The quest continues !

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 01/01/2014 15:50

I'm going to try collection 2000.I can recommend benefit boi-ing too,it's very good, creamy and blendable BUT can settle in creases if you use a little too much

Philoslothy · 01/01/2014 16:00

I have also found [[http://www.boots.com/en/Indeed-Labs-Eysilix-Instant-Eye-Rescue_1282805/ eyeslix eye cream to be good at dealing with dark circles under eyes.

I am a bit obsessive with my eye care as a lack of sleep means I often have dark circles and the current routine works for me.

AM: use eyeslix

PM Use Estée Lauder eye repair and Liz earle superskin for eyes and lips.

lovelychops · 01/01/2014 16:40

Really like the look of eyeslix

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 16:57

Adds Collection 2000 one to shopping list!

I've been using a S&G one. I like the product itself but the packaging design is absolutely awful, to the point where I won't be buying it again.

GeorginaWorsley · 01/01/2014 17:26

I like the new Benefit one too.
Looks like a lipstick.

RainbowBob · 01/01/2014 17:37

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Well, I honestly did not think for a minute that something under a fiver would emerge as the all-out miracle worker... that has cheered up me (and my battered post-Christmas credit card) no end. I'll be off out to buy that one tomorrow... and even if it doesn't work, I'll have only wasted a few quid!

I might try the Laura Mercier one if C.2000 doesn't work as I think I have heard someone, somewhere mention that before.

Will report back with results......

I bought the Bobbi Brown one on recommendation but wasn't impressed, until I started using their corrector underneath it. Amazing.

I'm going to try the collection 2000 one too though since its so cheap! Definitely worth a bash!

KateSpade · 01/01/2014 20:53

I am also on the search for a new miracle concealer, i don't really want to order online as i know ill get the shade one, and near me their isn't much around.

However, i will now go out and purchase the collection 2000 one. I have also heard the age defy maybeline concealer is good, if you apply without the sponge.

Im actually quite glad to read other people thought the bobbi brown concealer was a let down, i just don't rate it at all. Its such a hard substance that i can hardly get it out of the pot, never mind blend it properly..

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 21:01

Is the Collection 2000 stuff available in Boots btw?

TallulahBetty · 01/01/2014 21:48

Yep, Collection is in Boots.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 21:50

:)

lovelychops · 01/01/2014 22:54

Totally agree Kate about Bobbi brown. It's always raved about and I treated myself with birthday money a few years ago. I still feel resentful when I see it in my make up bag Grin

Will be trying out collection 2000 soon

SoonToBeSix · 01/01/2014 22:57

I love max factor it's the best I've tried.

BananaNotPeelingWell · 01/01/2014 23:00

I was also unimpressed with Bobbi Brown. It's so sticky and cakey.

burnishedsilver · 01/01/2014 23:41

Have you had your iron levels tested? Low iron can cause dark circles and it certainly does in my case.

StatisticallyChallenged · 01/01/2014 23:46

Benefit Booing is extremely good for dark eye circles. I'm very pale naturally and it really covers them incredibly well
