need to start taking care of myself

OP posts:
HoHolepew · 15/12/2013 18:50

I have started to use Nivea in the big blue tub, just the oridinary stuff. I read an artice that showed it repaired sun damaged skin compared to Creme De Mer, which did nothing for the skin..

It needs rubbed in well but I have definitely noticed an improvement.

skillsandtea · 15/12/2013 18:50

I've used eve lom for about 10 years. I love it but don't know if at 40 I should be using something else.

skillsandtea · 15/12/2013 18:51

I also use Astral which is fab.

Elsiequadrille · 15/12/2013 18:55

La Roche Posay. It's been the best moisturiser I've ever tried (have recently bought three types to try). It's reasonably priced too

I used Creme de la Mer years ago and found it heavy and greasy, ok as an occasional night cream.

HyvaPaiva · 15/12/2013 18:55

Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation every day.

Steamcream when I want something really thick and herbal.

They are really great, despite their massive price difference I love them both.

DrMcDreamysWife · 15/12/2013 18:56

I like the no 7 protect and perfect creams they Make my
Skin really soft.

ThisIsMeNow · 15/12/2013 19:05

I alternate between Clarins hydra quench and multi active.

eurochick · 15/12/2013 19:07

Olay 7 effects, SPF 15.

I've tried countless others, including creme de la mer, and always come back to the Olay.

BunnyLebowski · 15/12/2013 19:09

La Roche Posay.

It's completely transformed my skin in the last year and I'll use it forever!

whereisshe · 15/12/2013 19:12

Trilogy rosehip oil. I LOVE it (and my skin looks so much better than it did before I started using it, wrinkles not nearly as pronounced).

Shargaff7 · 15/12/2013 19:13

I'm 48 and have always used simple cream the rich moisturising one .. It's inexpensive and I find it works really well.

coffeeinbed · 15/12/2013 19:15

l'Occitane Creme Divine ATM
Lovely.
It was Boots Botanics two weeks ago, which was also Ok.
I think moisturiser is the bit that matters the least - I use a Clarins Oil which I alternate with a Ren retinoid serum at night and and I think these are the ones that make the difference.

ExcuseTypos · 15/12/2013 19:16

Boots Botanics moisturinsers are fantastic. The day one has over 90% organic ingredients and its under a tanner.
It's often on offer too.

applecharlotte · 15/12/2013 19:17

eurochick I'm the same, tried loads of posh creams but 7 effects Olay is by far the best for my skin . I also use the Trilogy rosehip oil every couple of nights to rehydrate as my skin can get dry at this time of year.

womma · 15/12/2013 19:18

I buy any mid-price moisturiser with rose in it. I like the Melvita one, and I've tried the Dr Haushka one as well as the Weleda one. At the moment I'm using the Una Brennan Superfacialist one from Boots, which is lovely.

Also, a bit of rosehip oil at night works wonders.

ggirl · 15/12/2013 19:19

wish I could find a decent one
I have been using a LRP light one for combo skin , find it not moisturising enough

tried astral cream-broke out in little spots the nxt day

difficult to find one that moisturises dehydrated skin but doesn't cause spots

KenDoddsDadsDog · 15/12/2013 19:19

Kiehls Rosa Arctica
And blue Nivea at night.

ElizabethBathory · 15/12/2013 19:20

Clarins multi active for day, Body Shop Aloe Vera for night. I have dry/combination skin.

coffeeinbed · 15/12/2013 19:20

I just wanted a bit of a treat.
Not sure I will re-buy.

VerySmallSqueak · 15/12/2013 19:21

Nivea soft.
It's just the job.I have lovely skin (if I may say so) with no more or less wrinkles than a woman of my age should have.

coffeeinbed · 15/12/2013 19:22

gggirl have you tried a light serum layered with a light moisturiser?
two light layers are better than a heavy one.

ggirl · 15/12/2013 20:21

coffee-yes have been using LRP serum for dehydrayted skin as well.
Still have dry patches .
I get spots and milia around eyes and nose when I use loads of moisturisers

jamtoast12 · 15/12/2013 20:35

I used to use no7 for years but now use Aldi and its amazing! all my friends use it now too and its so cheap!

peachysnail · 15/12/2013 20:45
