These look like winter navy spotty shirt and plain navy with interesting cuffs

Have ordered this breton top in ivory/navy - I know its ivory but reviews say the navy is very dark so hopefully the contrasting stripes will make it suitable for me. Have looked everywhere for a white with navy stripes breton top that's fairly fitted and has full length sleeves and this was the best one I could find....

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 14:26

Sorry forgot to finish editing the first line, hope you got the gist of what I've said!

ElizabethBathory · 22/01/2014 14:30

I have this one MissS, it's very soft and lovely, and the navy is dark enough to combat the ivory. Gap have done white/navy bretons in the past, don't know if they have any atm.

KosherBacon · 22/01/2014 14:45

Can I ask a really silly question- how do you wash white and dark coloured striped tops? I always end up with the white bit looking muddy as the colours slightly run.

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 14:49

I have loads of stripey tops - I put them all on a 30C wash, using detergent suitable for coloured clothes.

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 14:50

No bretons at the Gap but that People Tree looks nice - not quite what I had in mind and I already have a navy with white striped breton which I wear a lot.

LittleBabyPigsus · 22/01/2014 14:53

Colour catcher sheets in the wash are good, along with using colour-friendly detergent (Aldi and Lidl detergents are great and cheap).

KosherBacon · 22/01/2014 15:01

We can't use colour detergents. We all have such sensitive skin and need non-bio, which doesn't come in a colours version. Boo.

FaceDirectionOfTravel · 22/01/2014 15:20

Colour catchers probably won't upset your skin - they are just sheets you add to the wash. I never use colour detergents and they are fine with just normal non-bio.

ElizabethBathory · 22/01/2014 15:25

If the top has more white than colour on it I put it in with whites. Otherwise I just put it in with colours and never seem to have a problem. We use some kind of Ariel but DH does the shopping so I don't actually know what kind it is - I've never looked Blush

Levantine · 22/01/2014 17:00

Hallo! I don't usually post here, but just wondered - would you say that this green is a winter green? and which do you think will get worn most - navy or green

LittleBabyPigsus · 22/01/2014 17:21

I would say the green is a winter green. Lovely colour for a coat -I'd definitely choose it over the navy. Yes the navy is more practical but I'd rather have the more fun green coat.

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 17:22

Agree with PP - its a gorgeous winter green.

ElizabethBathory · 22/01/2014 17:53

Looks like a lovely light emerald to me. You'll wear the green more cos you'll love it!

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 18:29

Have just ordered this jumper - there are loads of stuff in cobalt, grey, black as well as burgundy in their sale.

escargot · 22/01/2014 18:48

Can someone link to anything I can go and see on the High Street for clothes colours please? I'm struggling to 'see' the online stuff :( That coat looks too bright for me - a pine green is my 100%

ElizabethBathory · 22/01/2014 18:53

The Hush red cardi is down to a bargainous £30. I sent it back cos the shape doesn't suit me but the colour is perfect.

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 18:56

You won't see that much pine green on the high street now that its Spring - pity as its one of my wow colours as well.

Phase Eight sometimes has dark emerald and other winter colours

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 18:57

(actually that green is probably between dark emerald and pine green, making it a good green for us)

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 19:00

House of Fraser whistles pine green sweater

escargot · 22/01/2014 19:03

Thanks SO much miss I've seen that Phase Eight top and wondered if it would be right :)

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 19:04

I have that PE top in black and its very flattering Smile

Maraki · 22/01/2014 19:35

Hello everyone! I just wanted to show this bag, a gorgeous fuschia colour with lots of pockets to keep everything super organised. A bit of a bargain too

LittleBabyPigsus · 22/01/2014 20:11

Love the purple PE top (as well as the green) - winter friendly, right? Since Pantone made Radiant Orchid their colour of the year for 2014 I love magentas and bright purples as well as fuchsias.

MissScatterbrain · 22/01/2014 20:27

The purple is great for bright winters.
