If you all already know about this, please don't rain on my parade.

Cleanse. Apply calamine liberally. Sleep. Repeat for two nights.

And that's it. All the depressing little cystic buggers that hovered around my chin waiting to look horrendous in a certain kind of light - gone!

You may have made my heart leap with joy here OP... Are you talking about the deep, hard(!) whiteheads that are impossible to squeeze?

If so, I'll have to try this. The first hint of any moisturiser and I'm buggered. My skin looks fine in some lights other than feeling like I look about 75, in others, it looks like acne.

AlfalfaMa · 06/11/2013 23:11

You've brought me joy too, my chin is a fright this week, and I can't even blame it on hormones. Hope I didn't chuck out the calamine left over from the chicken pox scourge..

AntoinetteCosway · 06/11/2013 23:12

Really?

NicolaSeven · 07/11/2013 07:08

Yes, those ones.

Read about it on makeupalley and it worked!

SpookyRestingFace · 07/11/2013 08:18

Oooh I have some of these! Off to Asda for calamine today then, thanks!

DisappointedHorse · 07/11/2013 19:08

I'm going to try this and report back!

Mumof3girlys · 07/11/2013 21:16

Confused!!!! Lumps under the skin or those god awful huge extra large while heads that appear once a month on your chin???

NicolaSeven · 07/11/2013 21:39

For me, the lumps under the skin. Little feckers that can't be squeezed. But I don't see why it wouldn't work on spots too.

Oh I need to go get some calamine, I've had one of these on the side of my jaw for weeks!

TiredMule · 07/11/2013 23:43

Oh I really hope this works-excited!!

chipsandpeas · 09/11/2013 12:02

ohhh i hope this works

shockers · 09/11/2013 12:06

I wonder if there would be any improvement in DD's acne if I tried this....

AlfalfaMa · 09/11/2013 14:31

I tried it, and my verdict is it's great for drying out spots, and also very soothing and calming on a big sore throbbing spot (like the one on my chin a few days ago), but it's very drying so don't put it all over your face like I did, but rather dot it on to spots with a cotton bud.

NicolaSeven · 09/11/2013 16:10

Fingers crossed shockers ...

SquirtedPerfumeUpNoseInBoots · 09/11/2013 16:18

Thanks OP. I'll be trying that.

Marylou2 · 09/11/2013 16:53

Thanks for sharing.DD has a few on her forehead. We're going to give this a go tonight.

gaggiagirl · 09/11/2013 16:57

Yay! Count me in! Going to try this tonight dotted on with a cotton bud.

Shall we all report back in the morning with our results?

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 09/11/2013 18:15

If this really does cure milia, I will love you forever OP. I'm currently trying urea cream as recommended on here with no luck so far. I have hundreds of the feckers.

gaggiagirl · 10/11/2013 08:59

I tried this last night on both spots and bumps.

My skin is not at all red and angry it is calm this morning. Spots are reduced. Bumps especially the massive one near my mouth are significantly reduced.

I'll try it again tonight.

How did everyone else get on?

NicolaSeven · 10/11/2013 09:07

I smeared it all over my face again last night and it doesn't seem to dry me out. I err toward dryness too.

DH doesn't bat an eye now when I slide into bed all pink and crumbly Grin

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 10/11/2013 09:55

Ok I'm going to do this 'scientifically' starting tonight.

I've got loads of milia on each cheek so I'm only going to do my left cheek for 5 nights and see whether it makes a visible difference.

I just want to be really clear - milia are the little hard waxy 'seeds' under the skin that only come out if you make a hole with a needle. This is good for those, yes? I'm just checking because I'm sceptical about how calamine can work on these.

Does it make a mess on the bedclothes and will any calamine lotion do?

gaggiagirl · 10/11/2013 12:57

I used wilko calamine lotion and just dotted it on with cotton buds. Once it dries it makes no mess on bed clothes.
I'm impressed with last nights results its so soothing.

cocolepew · 10/11/2013 12:59

Ohhh interesting.

Thumbwitch · 10/11/2013 13:41

Does this work on the little horrors when they're up in the fragile tissue under your eyes? Or can you not put the calamine that close to the eyes?

I made the cardinal error of trying to get one out using the needle (it worked on it years ago but the bugger came back a couple of years ago) and it has got bigger and more "spread out", iyswim - will the calamine work on it?

NicolaSeven · 10/11/2013 13:55

Oh no, have no idea about milia under the eyes, sorry! For me, it's the annoying little bumps under the skin on your chin.

I know a good beautician can remove milia, though.
