I have always used Nivea cream. Love the smell, the heavier texture in the Winter and the retro packaging.

Barry M eye powders in the little jar last forever and if you tip a teeny bit onto your hand then dip a damp eyeliner brush in they convert into eyeliner too.

Carmex lip balm in the yellow tin lasts ages and works. It clings to the lips even after drinking, what you need especially in Winter time.

[[http://www.amazon.co.uk/Red-Fox-Bottle-O-Butter-Lotion-16oz/dp/B000EGOGAK/ref=sr_1_1?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1382085083&sr=1-1&keywords=bottle+o+butter This] stuff is amazing and cheap as chips. A little goes a long way and I used it years before bloody India Knight mentioned it.

Aldi Lacura moisturisers have been very highly rated. They cost pennies and work.

Superdrug 'B' range is good. The melting face cleanser gel works and is £4,66.

An absolute favourite range of mine is the Boots Cucumber facial products. I use the cucumber facial wash, the cream and facial wipes. None costs more than £2 and they smell fabulous-clean and fresh.

Another product that looks cool and retro but costs little is Cold Cream. Boots do a range and Amazon stocks this one which I use. They come in heavy glass jars.

This is the Bottle O Butter link.

Sleek blushers and eyeshadows - they are cheap, but I think they compare to Mac and Chanel. Sleek might be a bit more pigmented, so have to be a bit careful when applying, but that's not a bad thing.

Bourjois is quite good too - healthy mix foundation is great for oily skin.

Where I live, we have Essence and Catrice - I'm not sure it's sold in the UK though. Super cheap brands but very good - especially the nail polishes.

Megbeth · 18/10/2013 10:09

I like Simple eye make up remover & toner.

evertonmint · 18/10/2013 10:14

Another fan of Sleek blushers and eyeshadows. You need to be careful not to overload the brush, but they are brilliant for the price.

Superdrug Vitamin E and Naturally Radiant skincare ranges - several brilliant products, particularly the hot cloth cleansers. They are priced at about £5, but you can invariably get them on a half price or bogof deal so I rarely pay more than £3.

Body Shop Camomile cleansing butter, Nutriganics cleansing gel oil, Vitamin E night cream. Not quite as cheap as Superdrug but around £10 so still a lot cheaper than posh brands.

Boots Botanics BB cream - tried it after reading a thread on here and love it.

Neutrogena concentrated hand cream - the best by miles, non-greasy, works brilliantly and only about £3.

CecyHall · 18/10/2013 10:17

Maybelline Colour Tattoo eyeshadows.

So long lasting and highly pigmented. I love them very much.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 18/10/2013 10:19

MUA at superdrug. some great products and all really cheap. they have an online store too. Single palette eyeshadows are £1 and have a really good colour payoff.
The chubbystick lipsticks are £3 and as good as Clinique. Lots of products under £5, fab fun ones too, such as the glitter nail polish and those caviar beads for nails, fur effect nails etc. none that I would use as I have rubbish nails and not young anymore but good for those who enjoy experimenting.

skincare wise, I have rediscovered st ives brand. good quality and smells lovely without irritating my sensitive skin.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 18/10/2013 10:20

also if you have an asda nearby take a look at the n-spa products, slightly more expensive than the ones above but good quality, almost luxurious feeling.

Dontletthemgetyoudown · 18/10/2013 10:23

these are fab, I hate the feel of lipstick or gloss, and these like he Clinique chubby stick are a great in-between and the colour lasts longer than you'd think. www.muastore.co.uk/index.php/mua-power-pout-irreplaceable

chanie44 · 18/10/2013 10:43

Superdrug naturally radiant skin care. About a quarter of the price of liz Earle and my skin is just as good.

Body shop hemp foot cream and absinthe hand cream. Both £10, but there is always an offer knocking around so half price.

mignonette · 18/10/2013 10:51

If you like foraging about in independent chemists look out for the Klorane range of face, hair and body products. They look very expensive (but are not), have natural ingredients in and work really well. The Cornflower eye make up remover is super gentle, pictured here and this shampoo is one of my favourites.

There are always 2 for 1 offers on products in the big supermarkets and Boots do good own brand coconut scented shampoos and shower gels for around a pound.

Although Bourjois powder products for eyes and cheeks retail between £7-8, they are triple milled powders with saturated pigments so they last. They are also made by the factory that makes Chanel. Worth the few extra £££'s. I have Roses De Cendres Brun, a powder blush that has lasted me seven years now. You don't need much.

Flo56 · 18/10/2013 11:06

Almond oil. I buy a bottle from the supermarket for a couple of quid and use it on face, hands, elbows ... anywhere. Admittedly my skin is quite dry and sensitive so it might not suit everyone.

Lazysuzanne · 18/10/2013 11:33

Olive oil as moisturizer

justasecond · 18/10/2013 11:52

Bourjois products are v good my fave lipstick atm is their Rouge Edition in Rose Tweed shade 04. It is a lovely shade of non brown nude pink that is semi matte but not drying.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 18/10/2013 12:04

Aldi skincare, ELF cosmetics

itsnothingoriginal · 18/10/2013 16:52

Totally agree about the Superdrug Naturally Radiant skincare range - the hot cloth cleanser has revolutionised my skin!! Bought some more today as still on the half price deal.

Also like some of the MUA range and find Accessorize make up quite reasonable and some nice shades.

I like Jergens body lotion and hand creams - reasonable price and very softening.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/10/2013 17:03

I don't buy loads of different skin/make-up TBH.
I'm coming to the end of my jar of L'Occitane face moisturiser so in Boots I saw Soap&Glory on 3for2.

Bought a cleanser, moisturiser and a serum to try.

Loads in Boots on 3 for 2 at the moment.

And I have the Superdrug Hot Cloth Cleanser. It's more creamy than Liz Earle but a fraction of the price.

TallulahBetty · 18/10/2013 20:12

Aldi face cream.
MUA at Superdrug for make up.
Johnsons baby lotion for body moisturiser.

JemimaPuddle · 18/10/2013 20:17

Definitely superdrug hot cloth cleansers, the vitamin E & radiant ones are lovely.
Superdrug Vitamin e all over body cream is great for dry skin & got rid of my scaly shins.

mewkins · 18/10/2013 20:21

MUA for eyeshadows, Bourjois blusher and face powder and Rimmel exaggerate liquid eyeliner is the best!

Pinupgirl · 18/10/2013 21:09

Yes to Mua make up-the primer is excellent and better than more expensive ones I have tried.
Nivea make-up removing wipes-they remove even estee lauder double wear.
Astral moisturiser-only been using this a couple of weeks but I had a rare make up free day and noticed how good my skin was looking.

Mandy21 · 18/10/2013 21:22

ANother vote for Botanics BB cream (although the fair is very light, so go for the medium).

Lacura (from Aldi) day moisturiser, shimmering day crème, serum all great (although BB not great). The pen concealer is good too (a kind of touche éclat copy)

2True lip and cheek stain (available at Superdrug) - a copy of Benefit Benetint but think its £1.99

Not sure if you're including contact lenses or anything like that but I now get contact lenses online through daysoft (just google it) and massively cheaper than elsewhere.

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/10/2013 21:24

MUA is brilliant, I have the eyeliner and its the only one I've been able to use properly.

Baby oil is the best eye make up remover.

Superdrug do a really good sunscreen for the face, SPF 50 and maximum UVA, I wear it everyday.

anniroc · 18/10/2013 22:32

Soap and Glory, amazing range, particularly the body scrubs.
