REALLY warm gloves?

I have Raynauds and my hands hurt like hell when it is cold. I need REALLY warm gloves. Wool - no good. Cashmere - no good. Cashmere lined leather - no good. I don't want anything too bulky, because I still need to be able to do things with my hands when I have them on.

Any thoughts anyone? Thank you!

Re the possum socks, I couldn't actually wear mine as they were too warm for me. I don't have Rsynsulds though.

Thanks Rattitude Smile.

Becool - too warm? I don't think any extremity of mine has ever been too warm...

My silver gloves have arrived and my possum ones should be here in the next day or so.

YAY!!!! So pleased they measure up.

They look like ordinary knitted gloves - you really have to wear them to feel just how warm and gorgeous they are.

I use cheap thin thermal gloves (from Tesco or Sainsburys) when it is only a little cool like now ( I have a pair in every jacket/bag), with down filled mittens over the top for when it is properly cold. I saw some insulated motorcycle/cycle split mittens ( like a three fingered glove) in TK Maxx ( who are quite good for warm accessories if you are a non standard size like my little hands). Anyone tried these? They look a bit unusual but look as if they would give better dexterity than a mitten.
Feet wise I have some lovely warm ankle boots, (sheepskin), with a thick (flatform) sole and have also found my feet stay warmer since I had to wear thick orthotic insoles. M+S and unqlo do (thinnish) heattec socks but personally they are not warm enough for me.

Fine if you dont mind being part of the horrid agony that goes into the production. To get the fine skin the poor sheep are actually skinned alive - can you imagine feeling that kind of agony just to ensure plenty of rich pampered people have warm hands and feet. Hope you can live with that?

This is a thread from october...! But thanks for the links to the possum gloves!

They might not look especially glamorous but the warmest gloves I've ever found are motorbike gloves - at least if you want flexibility. I can unzip my jacket pocket, put my hand in and fish out my keys, fiddle with a padlock, unlock the door, everything, all without taking them off. I'd be lost without them as winters can be really cold where I am. Do look a bit odd with my smart coat though. Grin
