Merino cardigan to wear lounging about with newborn

Can anyone help me find a new cardigan to replace a much loved but very tired cardigan. I'm after ideally a merino wool in grey,navy or cream. Needs to be longish (I'm 5"9) that I can chuck on over pjs or whatever I managed to thrown on with a newborn. We've a cold house and I'm no doubt going to be up a lot in the night feeding. My current one was from the White Company and has lasted brilliantly except for me catching it on a door and it ripped. Needs to be smart enough to wear with visitors and quick trips to the shops too.
The WC haven't got anything in this winters range which fits the bill, I've tried Hush - the cardigown thing is pretty good except the sleeves were really baggy.

I said "I can't imagine anyone spending £150 on a cardi with a brand new baby" because most people quite often complain that their clothes get covered in milk/shite/other bodily fluids and might well get ruined, so don't feel inclined/able to spend a lot of money for something to 'lounge' in with a newborn.
I did not suggest she couldn't or wasn't allowed to.
If the OP wants to wear Chanel, good luck to her. The comments were meant light heartedly, not meant to be dissected, but I'll know next time, although I probably won't bother.

Isla, telling someone to 'lighten up' isn't lighthearted, it's inflammatory, as I'm sure you know. The OP didn't ask for lifestyle advice, she asked for help finding a cardigan to replace an existing (damaged) item.

I had a fabulous cashmere grey hoodie that was some ridiculously tiny price in a Littlewoods glitch. I lived in it when my DS was tiny. Made me feel comfy-cosy but not slobby.

M&S have got some lovely cashmere in at the moment [collective gasp at cashmere with a newborn]

Another vote for Woolovers & Uniqlo do excellent merino.

If you don't mind handwashing stuff, this is the nicest boyfriend cardigan I've ever had. Comes in light grey, charcoal grey & deep sapphire, among many other colours.
