I'm too hot. Are there any good tops around for a woman whose bra straps are wide and whose upper arms are not her best feature?

Big norks. Not massively keen on my upper arms. Otherwise average. But am boiling hot and sporting unattractive sweaty patches atm and getting paranoid that everyone is noticing. What's out there in the very cool (in both senses of the word) top department? Am going to find something this evening but don't have much time so any tips gratefully received.:)

i bought 6 various vests in gap today for layering. very happy with them. and it's 3 for 2, so only paid for 4 of them!

\link{http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5766&pid=357207\what about this}

\link{http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5766&pid=377665\ or this}

\link{http://www.gap.com/browse/category.do?cid=5763&pageID=-1\or some of these}

Layering is a good way to hide bra straps.

moondog · 12/06/2006 19:26

That's a lovely dress Enid.

I've come to the conclusion that t shirt material (unless very thick and good quality) looks bloody awful on anyone with a hint of extra flesh. Clings to lumps and bumps most unattractively.

agree with buffy here

moondog · 12/06/2006 19:36

Loose t shirts I am not a fan of.
They hang like an old dish cloth and oddly enough cling to sweaty rolls of flesh even more than tight ones.

I reckon fitted,not too long,thick cotton with a v neck is only good style.

ScummyMummy · 12/06/2006 19:43

Like all those- isn't layering a bit hot though, beets? Hot is what I'm trying to avoid most of all- have been stuck in a central London swelter that isn't showing signs of ending yet. I have lots of nice t shirts but they have been getting a bit wet in the underarm area and I've been worrying that everyone is noticing and thinking yukBlush. So was hoping that there is a solution as vests have often not seemed doable with my boobs. Maybe I should be trying out new anti-pirspirants rather than new tops!

ScummyMummy · 12/06/2006 19:57

Have decided to do just that re fake tan. Actually it helped being accused of having bingo wings, earlier. Felt all offended and went and looked at them closely in the mirror and decided they aren't as bad as I thought after all.:)
