So I just measured by bra size and I'm shocked, is it right?

I measured under and I'm 34. Well I'm 33.5. That is taut, completely flat to skin.

When I do the lean over measurement (which made dh smirk) I measured 41inches.

Am I right thinking that makes me 34E?

I have teeny (saggy and deflated) bosoms!

Thanks Statistically and Sparkle. Much better! Now, where to find 32DD or E bras in my price range (found a gorgeous Lepel in Boyes for £8 but not much else). Any suggestions? Preferably where I can order online. Asda & Tesco were useless, most of their band sizes started at 34. I don't want to spend a fortune though as I've still around a stone of baby weight to lose.

Brastop, Leia outlet, there are often some fabulous bargains to be had on Amazon too. Mycurvesandme is also a good bargains website. 32DD/E should be too hard

anazon curvy kate

lepel balconette
lepel again
cleo jude
cleo lucy

All under £12 on amazon

In that case prepare for size shock and a band that will feel strange for a while - start at 30F. That's only one cup size bigger in volume terms than your existing bra but a much smaller band.

Thank you!! The middle was pretty close but not flat. I'm going to order a couple to try at home as sizes in store were awful!

Married thank you.

I'm a 32FF at the moment. I've tried Freya's Faye but it's too high under the arms for me for comfort.

FML 36 Ff ! Been wearing 38 Dd have I been looking atrocious? Just ordered a Curvy Kate bra as well. I am size 16 so would have thought under bust would have been larger!

smellylittleorange - I wear a 14 in most things, sometimes 16 (ignoring size charts who claim my hips and boobs are a 20+ Shock) and I'm only a 30 back.

I've been reading there threads with interest and wouldn't mind some guidance.

I've lost 20lbs since January and my 38d bras were loose and gaping so I went to Debenhams (my usual go to for bras) and they fitted me as a 34e. I bought three bras; two fit ok but feel tight and I have fat armpits which looks grim and the other seems to be too big on the cup. When I lean forward the cup gapes. I also went to M&S and bought one of their own brand sports bras in a 34e. It's an overhead one and, when I tried to put it on, I felt something 'split' so I took it straight off and it's been in the drawer ever since Blush

So I just went and measured myself the way you recommend and I'm 36.5 under my bust and 45 round when leaning forward.

Does this make me a 34e? Or do I have it completely wrong? I'm loathe to spend more money without knowing the right size.

What do you think wise women?

OK. On measurements its very wrong :) Can you pop one of them on for me please and try scooping so we can check it better

Basically, put bra on, then stand side on to a mirror. Lean forward, put your right hand inside your left cup, reach round as far as you can and pull/scoop/yank all the flesh/soft tissue that is bumping under or over the back, around the straps or the armpit and haul its ass in to the cup. Repeat at other side. You might need to do it a couple of times (as doing one side knocks the other out slightly)

Also - please put one of your bras on back to front and see how the band is when the cups aren't distorting it. You should be able to pull it a couple of inches from your body, no more, but it shouldn't be painfully tight

Been lurking on this thread and as I'm going shopping tomorrow, I thought I'd try some on in what you think is the size I should be. I currently wear 38E but the cups are feeling a little big (lost nearly a stone so far)

Just measured and I'm 39 under bust and 50 loose when I bend over but 47 when standing up.

So what size do you reckon?

Thanks :)

There is no way those cups should be feeling big. Can you try scooping please? See post above for how to

AddictedtoCrunchies · 20/07/2013 20:32

Back to front, I can pull the band out about an inch but no more.

Round the other way and after several scoops, my right breast is all contained but feels quite 'pushed up'. My left breast has a 'tube' of about an inch bulging over the top. I pushed the wires up so they were under my breasts too so there was no wrinkling.

I felt like, after a school run and a bus journey to school, it wouldn't stay in that position. Blush

What would a 32/40 be? I'm wearing a 34b at the moment. Thanks :-) xx

addictedtocrunchies...based on your measurements you are coming in at around a 38G-HH. I suspect there is probably still breast tissue at the back/sides, plus the bulge you mentioned. If you have asymmetric breasts then have a look here at the article on how to manage it.

Caddie08- start with 32FF

I've been mainly wearing strapless bras lately (and just checked- they're 38DD not E and only cheapy ones from tesco, and they've gone a bit out of shape!) Just done the scooping and they weren't big anymore. I've been wearing them on the tightest band thing as well.

Report
StatisticallyChallenged · 20/07/2013 20:43

That's certainly where I would start. It's easier to recognise a cup that is too big than too small. Make sure you scoop like a crazy lady - get everything you possibly can in to the cups, then appraise. Don't put them on and immediately thing "too big" - my bras look gapey until I haul tit!

Report
IsaacCox · 20/07/2013 20:45

I've just put it on back to front and pulled the band (on the tightest 'setting') and can pull it 6 inches at the most
