Grumpy Aside from the usual high St shops, try Hockley. Hockley has a lot of great independent shops and is the creative hub of the city centre. It also has designer stuff in Collard Manson. Their are a fair number of vintage shops in Hockley too, including a hairdresser that specialises in vintage style hair. I bought my friend a course in vintage hair styling from there and she loved it! There's a great interiors shop called Nash also. It's huge and rambling and also has loads of local artists work for sale too. My favourite restaurant is in Hockley, It's called Kayal. They do South Indian food and their fish curry is to die for.
I'm sure you know, Bridlesmith Gate has a lots of the higher end shops, such as Flannels, C de C etc. Viv W is in the flying horse walk. If you haven't already, have a wander round Paul Smith, the building is beautiful. There's a cafe called The Walk just off Bridlesmith Gate that does about 15 types of cake, all gorgeous!
There are 2 lovely independent jewellery shops in Nottingham, one in Hockley and one on Foreman street near the Corner House. Their vintage rings are worth a look in particular. Cocktails in Saltwater in the Corner House are nice too, with a view of the city skyline from the terrace.
Derby Rd also has some great independent shops, esp Le Chien et Moi for french style home wares (and a chance to meet Molyneux, the resident Basset Hound!) and The Worm that Turned for inspiring garden paraphenailia.
Nottingham is a fab city with so much more than I have listed. I don't want to bore you all with it though!
Dry You live in such a beautiful part of the world. If you see the guys that play Cain and Cameron, please lick them right up their faces and tell them it's from Paris
.
I think a meet up would be such fun. Though I don't know how QueenC would feel about the opinions of 15 inebriated, over excited women!
