What to wear over very pale legs in summer with skirts??

My legs are not fit to go bare - pale, blotchy and 40+

In winter I wear black opaques - but what can I wear with summer skirts?

At this time of year I wear nude rights - I like the M&S hold you in jobbies.

I've just been in a hot country for a week with work and used a Rimmel wash off tan. It went on really well and didnt smudge off or anything.

FrugalFashionista - do you mean cut off jeans? That sounds like a very strange look to me. I can't quite picture cut offs, tights and converse!

Mine are a pair of Hobbs boots that I was lucky enough to pick up in a charity shop. However, Boden were doing something similar last year, which is where I got the idea.

I have the same problem and hate most nude look tights. I end up just hiding my legs away all summer... Not good. However, last year I read a review for the most natural looking tights ever. They are by a company called Faulke and you can buy them online. I have actually just ordered a couple more pairs for this summer.
They are AMAZING... Nobody ever knows I am wearing tights unless I actually tell them. They look like your own legs but without the blotchy/ ill look. They are £10 per pair but even though they are very fine, they don't ladder very easily, and 2 pairs can easily see me through a whole summer of skirts and dresses.

I got some gorgeous suntan tights from M&S last week - they look like they are hardly there, lovely and smooth....

I haven't tried the airbrush legs but I keep hearing they are the puppy's nuts etc but I have discovered the gradual tanner from No7. Not cheap but they say you don't need to exfoliate etc and it contains some antioxidant to help you tan better (?) but it gives a lovely hint of colour. You need to be quite generous with it to make it show up at all but I think it gives a much better colour with no blotchiness than normal gradual tanners and it is really good at moisturising. It's the only one I have kept on using every day. It is just enough to make them look less milkbottle without me having to do the rest of me.

Ladies, can I jump in here? I have a small varicous vein in middle of the back of calf since I was pregnant 7 years ago. I have not worn a skirt apart from with thick opaque tights since. This year I have treated myself to a lovely pair of the boden pewter mary janes and I can't wear dark tights with them. So I have been tempted to try the sally hansen leg makeup - will it cover thread veins and the bluey colour of the other vein or do I need something else?

I have good legs and this really bothers me - would love to find a solution to it this year!

Sally Hansen covers blueyness and as its buildable you can put more over particular bits. Apply it with a mitt and you can usually pick it up for about £6 in Tesco.

Tights under trousers is jolly uncomfortable and sweaty. urgh

Leggings. Sometimes just below knee ones on rare occasions it's actually not freezing. Wee bit fake tan so as not to scare people.

The Sally Hansen airbrush legs is amazing stuff. It makes me not care about my legs and I do get them out.

Although the past few days I have had them bare in the garden to try to get the blueness away.

This style is the normative street look in Rome and apparently also Milan right now - sheer (sheerer than in the pic) black tights worn with denim cut-off shorts (often with frayed edges). Footwear varies, have seen converse, slouchy suede boots and various types of flat shoes. No coat atm, any top goes but no skimpy vests.

I've also seen sheer black tights combined with discreet trainers (black vintage Airmax) and a simple black knee-length skirt and a simple top - at the opera! Incredibly chic...

Tights with shorts is hardly new

It's not new, it's been fashionable for a couple of seasons now, but sheer black is definitely back and a way to deal with pasty pre-beach season skin.

Do nude fishnets look very fishnetty or does is it to 'fool' the eye?

They do fool the eye, you have to be pretty close up to notice.

I think a lot of people have been a bit shocked at the sudden bareness of legs over the last few days and we really haven't got used to it yet.
