I know, I know- if you weren't far you wouldn't have the problem. But where do they?

I think maybe ASOS Curve have lost their way a little.

I honestly can't remember the last time I wore anything that resembled fashion.

That's really nice Jolly but don't think I'm confident enough to pull it off.

I like this:-

  1. Enough rouching over the tummy to hide sins - has a waist and a cleavage and length. I have ankles - but that's because my legs are shaped like chicken drumsticks.

  1. With good control underwear I'd wear this and look like Kim Kardashian's tubby sister.

kalidanger I like the elasticated waist of those trousers. I may be fat, but fuck tailoring - I want to look like a clown! That cardi is nice - no buttons I notice - it could only have been improved with the "waterfall effect". I too had a soft spot for the t-shirt, I've had a sneak preview at the autumn collection and can't wait to get my hands on "pasties".

Peplums - why in the name of ALL THAT IS HOLY would a larger woman wish to make her HIPS look bigger? They are stuck on "posh" spice's dresses because she has no fucking shape. They're like padded bras for arses!

1) Oh yeh baby check me out - I have both class and style. Those fags aren't going to go down the corner shop and buy themselves you know.

2) FAT RED CAMEL TOE - I hear they name - because nothing looks as flattering on a plus-sized arse than skin tight coloured denim.

3) I'm always hearing people complain about seeing fat girls' muffin tops , but we don't hear enough about buttocks - this comes in a size 26 which means presumably the bum-crease would be quite low - i.e., below the hem-line.

4) That reminds me, must pack up the boxes for the WI

5) The Glastonbury special - comes with own guy-ropes.

6) ding ding ding we have a winner!

Can someone do what Dolomites did but link to nice stuff? Confused

Report
DolomitesDonkey · 22/03/2013 14:58

Can you not take a little look yourself? I have no idea what you do like - I'm just joking around with the crap.

Each and every one of us has different taste - there's probably someone right now grinding their teeth with fury because I've taken the piss out of their favourite item!

Honestly, do you want it chosen, brought to your house, hung up in your wardrobe and your private butler dress you?

BabyFaker · 22/03/2013 15:00

Yes please that would be great! Thanks in advance!

That would be amazing .. do you charge?

Report
DolomitesDonkey · 22/03/2013 15:21

Yes, my rate is 800 quid a day and a constant americano on the go - and I like my coffee. I'm currently sat here with "happy feet".

I want to go shopping now. I have 50 quid - that means I can have that adorable arse-magnifying play suit in flammable green - but I'll still have 40 quid left to show off my finest feature; the camel toe.

Sadly I think what this thread shows is that it's far easier to buy hideous plus sized clothes than it is to buy nice ones that flatter.

What is it with these designers? Are they on a mission to produce the most unflattering polyester clothes possible? Honestly the designs so far this spring have been shocking. I've hardly bought anything new for ages - thank heavens all my winter and autumn stuff is still appropriate!!

polyhymnia · 22/03/2013 17:10

I agree with what's just been said about clothes designed specifically for plus sizes being incredibly hideous - that's why I avoid plus size specialist labels like the plague.

I guess I just wanted to see what other people found that was flattering.

I can never find anything.

And I never know what material will cling.

Fridge, I bought mine in the US, always a bigger size selection there. I too have the big ration.

As said Ive found some very flattering things at Boden But I have had to look really hard to do so - send back the majority if what I order. Because you really can't tell how the cut and material will work on you till you try.In general I would say go for best quality materials possible if you want to avoid cling etc. But styles that suit me won't always suit others and vice versa
Which is why it's helpful when reviews have height and figure type of reviewers included ( which Boden don't at the moment).

I definitely second Boden, especially for dresses. We are not talking high fashion, obvs, but I get loads of compliments. The wrap ones are great for tummies and if you avoid anything too Johnniefied you are usually on safe ground. (BTW why would anyone want to wear a dress that even Johnnie is only be inspired to call Everyday?) You need to be careful if you are large of chest with anything empire line, they are fond of adding contrast banding which can be tight. And once you know what suits, you can try Ebay. I usually get mine for about 50% to 60% off from sellers who obviously bulk buy at the end of sales.

I meant to say especially to VictorTango, the material is generally not clingy. I have last season's Pimlico dress and Emma tunic in 95 per cent viscose and 5 per cent elastane and neither cling and are flattering (size 18 5ft 6in busty)

I have the Emma tunic/dress in all three colours. The red one keeps riding up, though. Sad
