NO! just choose! you either wanna wear a dress or you wanna wear trousers!

i hate it.

but then, i am rather anti-fashion...

Feistybird · 26/04/2006 13:17

I actually think it looks really good when done well.

I would just feel so......silly wearing a dress and jeans myself...like I couldn't make up my mind!!

katzg · 26/04/2006 13:19

hmm

i want to try it but am scared!

not for me - can't pull it off

but saw v stylish woman on bus with patterned shirt dress (bit like that 70s purple one) over smart black trews. Looked great! Not sure if bulk at waist of jeans (all those pockets beltloops etc) would help or hinder.

shellybelly · 26/04/2006 13:20

yes, but depends on the length, H&M have got some nice ones in at the moment Grin

welshboris · 26/04/2006 13:20

yes, wrap or shirt dress

katzg · 26/04/2006 13:23

h and M i have about 2 hours on friday morning when DD1 is at nursery!

I have taken to wearing a black shirt dress over skinny jeans. Also a white 3/4 sleeve top under the dress which is short sleeve. And white short string of chunky beads. Main prob is that I cannot wear a belt with the jeans because of bulk issue so they keep falling down. Dress is from New Look and is lightweight stretchy type fabric.

It's been done here before as well annie - just not by me!

Bozza · 26/04/2006 13:30

I do feel quite a brave, trendy thing wearing it but bear in mind that I live in the sticks not like some of you London fashionista.

shellybelly · 26/04/2006 13:33

also try Zara coz they have some in as well i think

flobbleflobble · 26/04/2006 13:34

like this look

I find an easier version to wear for the less skinny minny like myself is some very fine trousers instead of jeans - less bulky.

I think it is older and frumpier folk who don't get this look!

starlover · 26/04/2006 13:37

i am not old OR frumpy! i just think it looks like you couldn't decide which to wear!

FrayedKnot · 26/04/2006 13:39

Well I'm old and doubtless frumpy, but I like it too, although have yet to try the combo myslef.

Friend was wearing wrap dress over jeans the other night - looked good. Didn't notice bulk aorund the middle or anything but she has got a very trim waist.

Am on look out for nice wrap dress to do same. Not that I'm COPYING, you understand

welshboris · 26/04/2006 13:41

Love this look! I wear a military style shirt dress, khaki colour. Can wear wedge sandals or flat plimmys. I am a size 12 and dont wear skinny winny jeans, (just not baggy jeans).

Debenhams have some great shirt dresses at the moment.

katzg · 26/04/2006 13:48

hmm well i just want to look nice when i go and see take that! i'm fed up of feeling frumpy and old (i'm only 28) i have yet to shift the weight i put on when pg with number 2 and none of my clothes fit me properly!

i will report back after my shopping trip on friday

Bozza · 26/04/2006 13:49

I just wanted to get some wear out of my dress and it has been too freezing to wear it without! Hence also the white top under the dress. Have not non-jeans trousers that I would deem suitable.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 26/04/2006 13:49

Also good at hiding 'baby jelly belly'!

katzg · 26/04/2006 13:50

ah mum1st - thats what i was hoping! don't want to wear my belly grabber knickers - i wanna dance!
