AmberNectarine your Louboutin's weren't the plain patent leather court shoes were they?

Report
AmberNectarine · 27/01/2013 20:40

They are the patent pigalles, so the super pointy ones. Gorgeous shoes, but they have buggered my feet!

I bought the black plain patent courts (simple pump 100) in december Novice, i love them! I'm currently considering the nude pigalles Amber- are they very uncomfortable?

Actually I've worn them a few times before this and found them fine. I did do a lot of dancing and walking in them that night - they are definitely cab shoes.

Oh dear, it was for an event where much drinking and dancing is involved. Was going to wear some nude prada numbers but they definitely cab shoes :( back to the drawing board...

Aaargh. Thank you both. I don't know what to do now. I have just bought the Pigalle 85 patent-leather pumps (I had a bit of an online spree yesterday) as I love the way they look. I like my heels to be very comfortable so it almost doesn't feel like I am wearing them. Their for work so vanity can't win as I have to be able to wear them all day. . Am I going to suffe?

Oh I've got the 100s, the 85s are better, I had a pair of those previously.

MamaGeekChic · 27/01/2013 20:56

I wear the SP100s all day at work and find them really comfy. I'd love to here how you get on with the pigalles, not planning on purchasing until I'm in London next week.

Okay, thanks AmberNectarine, that's comforting to know! Are you able to compare them to similar shoes by Jimmy Choo, Rupert Sanderson or Russell & Bromley? These are my usual high heels shoe places and all are v comfortable. I can run for a train in those!.

Never got on with heeled Choos, so better than those. 85s equivalent comfort to my R&B mid heel courts and Michael Kors pointy pumps. Never owned RS only tried in store.

Thank you! I am excited again Grin. I was mostly loyal to Choos for years but it feels like the quality has gone down as their popularity has gone up so haven't bought a new one for about 2 years.

MamaGeekChic, I got them from net a porter last night so will prob arrive at the end of the week. I will let you know. Thanks!

I'd be too frightened to tally things up. It might be used as evidence against me. I have been very good and avoided most of the sales (only purchased a dress at Whistles for £65). Oh, and some things in the J Crew sale, but that was in $us and I won't receive them until summer, so does not count. However, there IS a dress I have my eye on. Must sit on my hands and avoid Matches!

I wanted the JC navy leopard suede slippers this season, as they looked good in store. Also after a pair of CL 85s for work, maybe the simple pumps.

Novice, I find rupert Sanderson more comfortable than louboutin. However, the most comfortable stiletto is Manolo Blahnik.

I need to do this too!
So far in January,
Hush joggers and knit harems £30
Boden cashmere cardigan and 2xboyfriend merino cardigans £80
Ruby and Ed slippers £18
Anthropologie silk dress £50
breastfeeding top and bras £50
lace crochet top £13
topshop shoes £25
Scarves x4 £20

Mostly ebay buys and sale bargains, but adds up to quite a lot :s hopefully that will be it for a while now, will try and limit myself to £50 a month from now on.

Oooh that's interesting one into the equation Mominatrix. For years I wanted the Mary Jane Manolos in black patent. So so beautiful. Sigh. I could never get them in my size, so in the end I got the Choo version. Thats the last time I bought Choos.

I was doing really well this January after a disastrous December. I'd bought an LK Bennett bnwt dress from ebay for £20. Then I fit the flyer through for the me and em sake and have just spent £100 there.

I need to not spend anything for Feb because there are birthdays and car insurance but after that, I will stick to a £150 monthly limit.

Love this thread! I don't think January has been awful so far, assuming I am remembering everything:

  • toast leg warmers £20
  • silk kimono top £95

Ermmm, actually that's it. February wi be worse as I am having a suit jacket made and need to get a few other bits. I budget around £150 a month, but occasionally splurge on special things so average at about £200. I justify it on the basis that looking vaguely stylish is my job (personal image consultant/personal stylist).

Ooh, also a Me&Em dress in the sale for £75, but that was paid for by selling (and was bought to replace) two garments in bad colours for me.

Amber, it is this one. I'd need to try it on, and it is very different from anything I have purchased before in terms of pattern, but the shape is very classic. I'm trying to hold out until June and the sales!

Novice, see if you can try on a pair in your size and heel height. You will see what I mean about comfortable. In fact, they are my most comfortable heels I own.

I love that mominatrix. PP stuff is always so detailed and different. How did you get on with your Prada from last year? Have you worn much?

Mominatrix, I will definitely make the effort to try again as you're totally selling it and I do love that shoe! Sigh. In the meanwhile I have had emails from matches and netaporter to say my weekend purchases are on their way. :)
