I'm looking for recommendations. Personally I have a sensitive scalp, quite thick dyed hair. What do you all swear by?

I like L'Oreal Elvive for coloured hair

WildThong · 16/01/2013 11:37

I use Faith in Nature , it is eco friendly and the bottles last for ages.

FreePeaceSweet · 16/01/2013 11:43

Alberto Balsam tea tree and mint. Its available in Poundland if you're interested. My hair feels extra clean after use. I also use Aldi's Pantene rip off and L'Oreal Elvive for coloured hair (smells gorgeous). Always alternate between 2-3 shampoos to avoid product build up.

polyhymnia · 16/01/2013 11:55

Kerastase. Easily the best, IMO.
Sold in hairdressers. Get one that stocks it to recommend the right one for your hair.

ilovepowerhoop · 16/01/2013 14:03

Yes, L'Oreal Elvive comes as shampoo and conditioner.

ShabbyChit · 16/01/2013 14:33

For years I've used (and love!) Herbal essences. I loved the old style bottles and fragrances much more than the new ones, but luckily the one I use (for coloured hair) still has the same fragrance as the original ones!
I know hairdressers tell you that off the shelf shampoo is evil for your hair so I do switch occasionally, but I always end up going back to herbal essences!

Whenever I have washed my hair people always comment on the smell - apparently I smell of roses! Smile

Megsdaughter · 16/01/2013 14:42

John Frieda brunette. But more than that his frizees serum. Cant do anything without that.

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 16/01/2013 15:27

Percy and Reed splendidly silky.
Pricey, but I love it, and it smells divine.

soaccidentprone · 16/01/2013 15:42

I use this and the matching conditioner.

I have had loads of compliments saying how as shiny my hair is since I started using it as couple of months ago. my hair as also feels lovely and soft.

I know it is expensive, but texture wise it is very thick and you don't need very much of it. I also love the smell of it - almonds, though it does make me hungry for almond cake Smile

i buy it from waitrose

valiumredhead · 16/01/2013 15:55

L'Oreal Elvive anti dandruff and Elvive for coloured hair

Mrsap · 16/01/2013 18:16

I've tried them all and always thought I just had difficult hair. Until I went SLS/silicone free!

Dramatic difference. Now have the best hair I've ever had! Don't even need to use much in the way of product or styling.

Key is...don't use styling products with silicone in either.

I use naked range of shampoo from boots and a little coconut oil to calm it down.

Have never looked back.

Yes so bad I posted 3x!

DrRanj · 16/01/2013 22:17

Aussie volumising. Smells lush. Grin

DrRanj · 16/01/2013 22:18

Also Aussie mega shampoo and conditioner is good for frequent use, keeps your hair super clean without build up.

Kittycatcat · 16/01/2013 22:19

I've just started using inoa (I think that's spelt right), from my hairdressers. It's oil based and leaves my hair shiny and manageable

Corygal · 16/01/2013 22:19

Paul Yacomaine - SLS/silicone free - and spray in Aussie conditioner.

PoppyWearer · 16/01/2013 22:21

Absolute favourite has been L'Oreal Professionnel Vitamino Color. Cost an arm and a leg, but recommende by multiple hairdressers and definitely the best results.

Can't currently afford it, so went with L'Oreal Elvive for coloured hair, the big red bottles as mentioned earlier on this thread. Was £1.99 a bottle (bargain!) in Boots last week. And have to say, am impressed so far. Definitely working for me.

PoppyWearer · 16/01/2013 22:22

P.S. am also sensitive scalp/thick dyed hair BTW. If scalp gets really bad, your GP can prescribe a shampoo to sort it out.

OhMyNoReally · 16/01/2013 22:23

Timotea zero love it, we'll priced, works brilliantly (for me) and it smells nice.

OhMyNoReally · 16/01/2013 22:25

Or cold tar shampoo, my son needs it. I also love the smell, although some people don't.

Mrsap · 16/01/2013 22:28

Valium...shame. I have found it has made a huge difference....but then mentioned this post to some friends and non of them rated Naked either.

I can't use nothing else now.
