I have shoulder length hair and atm I'm wearing it just like that link Ledodgy posted.
If I'm having a mega lazy day I have a really wide band which is dark brown with sequins and beads on which looks a bit like one of those scarve things.

Other than that I like to curl it with the straightners (that sounds really stupid).

harpsichordcarrier · 20/04/2006 11:13

yes they may well be trendy
I am not disputing that
still, I say to you
IN THE BIN

schneebly · 20/04/2006 11:14

I just leave it til it goes all greasy and then make a messy bun but then I do look like a minger! Grin

oliveoil · 20/04/2006 11:14

harpsichordcarrier · 20/04/2006 11:16

I like those big scarf things like nbg says but not sure I can pull them off Sad

foxinsocks · 20/04/2006 11:16

the problem with alice bands is that my 5 yr old wears them and it looks cute on her and I reckon, anything that looks cute on a 5 yr old prob doesn't do it on a 30 something

Greensleeves · 20/04/2006 11:17

Same here Schneebly Sad

Mine looks like a cross between a bird's nest and a cottage loaf

Every day a bad hair day chez Greensleeves

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2006 11:18

Well I like mine, and it looks nice :)

Bibliophile · 20/04/2006 11:19

I like how Susannah was wearing her hair in the last series of WNTW - middle front up and back in a clip and rest left long. Very 60s.

foxinsocks · 20/04/2006 11:19

but you are a bright, young thing Wink

Nbg · 20/04/2006 11:19

I used to have a liqourice allsorts alice band when I was about 7. I think my mum still has it. I can post it on to you if you like Grin

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2006 11:19

I am 34 Shock

fuzzywuzzy · 20/04/2006 11:21

I plait it, several different styles (not at the same time obviously)
Put it up in buns lots of different styles.
Leave it down occasionally, but I keep sitting on it and the girls think it hysterical to take turns tugging at it so do the last very rarely.

MrsBadger · 20/04/2006 11:40

NB anyone who'se not sure on the scarf/hairband thing, get thee to Claires and buy one like \link{http://www.claires.com/product.asp?name=prod&color=green&rcid=31&id=2004&scid=38\this} with elastic at the back and tails. Loads of colours, £2.50 or thereabouts and at least then you'll know. If it doesn't suit you keep it for doing your makeup, if it does, peruse the expensive silk ones in Monsoon etc.
(Don't buy the elasticated-all-round ones, they're rubbish)

Smurfgirl · 20/04/2006 12:16

I wear lots of headbands/scarves. I have a fringe, but I pin it up into a quiff a lot, or pin it back to the side.

nailpolish · 20/04/2006 12:23

i use alice bands and these stretchy ones

dorothy perkins and claires accessories have the best selection

Turquoise · 20/04/2006 12:35

I do a kind of casual french roll type thing with a bulldog clip thing, so it oomphs it up a bit with a few tendrils out - not a beehive obviously: \link{http://www.glamslamentertainments.com/lookalikesandimpersonators/absolutelyfabulouslookalike.jpg\low-maintenance Turq}

nailpolish · 20/04/2006 12:39

LOL turq!

littlerach · 20/04/2006 12:43

I've tried three times to read that post cod - to no avail - and I ain't trying again Grin

FrannyandZooey · 21/04/2006 18:59

"ok I asked my hairdresser today

He recommended putting it into a ponytail, then removing the front section that doesn't quite fit into the ponytail and using a normal clip to push it up forward onto my head.

He also said put a ponytail on the back, then twist it and clip it up against the back of my head with a clip on the fringe."

I will bill the both of you for translation services.
