Bozza · 20/04/2006 10:06

cod you are making it more difficult than it is. Just dry them to the side and don't include them in your pony tail.

cod · 20/04/2006 10:06

you have to leave alot down to stop it looking like tendrils!

desperateSCOUSEwife · 20/04/2006 10:11

I always straighten my hair before tying up
nee wax as i have flyaway hair

MrsBadger · 20/04/2006 10:16

mine is past my shoulders but not as long as bra strap (if that makes sense).

often leave it loose or wear a bandanna/scarf/headband thing (v this summer) to keep if off my face, or do a half-ponytail (ie just top half of hair in slide or clip)

when it's up it's usually a messy modern bun (ie just twisted up with band round), not scraped or gelled or clipped anywhere else. Wispy bits are part of the look! Do have a few flowery things I stick on/in bun afterwards - much easier than trying to use band with flower on to put the hair up.

A plait always works its way inside my shirt collar (urgh) so I rarely wear one.

A ponytail ends up looking quite severe as it always ends up higher on my head than the bun so I only do it if I want to look especially efficient and/or intimidating - I use a small claw thing or a band.
Side partings can look v cool with ponytails but unlikey to add height. Have a bash at the quiff thing - couple of kirbygrips is enough to hold top section. I can't do either as have a weird upward wave either side of centre parting that will not be tamed.

This is where is shows you only have boys - any dds would have tried every possible style on you by now!

foxinsocks · 20/04/2006 10:19

mine's about the same length as yours

normally just leave it down - sometimes twiddle it into a sort of ball at the back and shove a hair band around it but I don't have a proper fringe so end up looking a bit odd

I want to go and get more layers at the front so that even if I tie it up, there are a few layers that will hang forward iyswim

I don't know what colour your hair is but mine's fairly blonde so I find that wax/mousse just makes my hair look dirty

mythumbelinas · 20/04/2006 10:52

if you do have a fringe and it get s annoying then it's easier to just quiff it up with a grip or two .. i'd imagine

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2006 10:59

I am currently trying a thin alice band thing. You can push it forwards a bit so you get a bit of bouffant, if you don't want it scraped back. My hair is quite thick though and the bits behind the band always start to puff up - anyone know how to deal with that?

harpsichordcarrier · 20/04/2006 11:06

alice band Shock
the thing to do with that is to THROW IT IN THE bin
no hold on, you can keep it to hold your hair back when you are doing your makeup

harpsichordcarrier · 20/04/2006 11:08

lol at looking like a sperm btw

FrannyandZooey · 20/04/2006 11:11

They are trendy, HC. All the bright young things have them (and even a bright old thing or two like me)
