I have only recently started weraing jeans after years of refusing to. Anyway invested in a couple of pairs recently. The most expensive was £2o and the cheapest was £10. DP goes out and buys two pairs for over £200. Arn't jeans meant to be rough and not designerish at all or have I missed something.

but if you tried on some 200 quid jeans you might see why some do it... I am an awful shape and the more expensive jeans just seem more forgiving.. if you are slim you can get away with cheaper... but once you have worn sevens, there is no going back..

Mine were £9 from Ethel Austin.

I think if you were jeans all the time and want ones which can also look smart then you will end up spending more money.
Jeans used to be rough but now they are the cornerstone of many a wardrobe!

festiveface · 07/04/2006 20:14

i have heard alot of people on here recomend sevens. Are they really that great? why?

cupcakes · 07/04/2006 20:14

wear

mancmum · 07/04/2006 20:17

the way they are cut, the feel of the denim, the fact you lose loads of weight when you put them on... the fact they just look so damn gorgeous... the drugs they inject into the denim to make you feel this way...

cupcakes · 07/04/2006 20:17

lol

ok then where can we try on sevens pleeeezzze

cupcakes · 08/04/2006 16:32

you can sometimes find sevens at TK Maxx

gscrym · 08/04/2006 16:33

Brainiac did a test on jeans. They subjected them to equal wear and tear. The 2 pairs they used were £4.99 from Asda and a pair of jeans at about £100 (I think). After tests and distressing them, they put them in a shop window on a couple of dummies then asked passers by which was the expensive pair. I think about 80% thought the cheapy ones were expensive.

The last pair I bought were £6 out of Sports World.

peachygirl · 08/04/2006 16:39

The last two pairs of Jeans I bought were from Tammygirl (before it was absorbed into BHS. I have has several comments on the cut and how well the fit both were under £20.
I have tried on other jeans but begrudge paying £££ for jeans I then have to chop 10 inches off!
sometimes I think it is the luck of the draw with jeans and you have to try several pairs on to get the right ones for you

themoon66 · 08/04/2006 16:41

The cheaper ones are always too short in the leg for me. Only buy GAP ones, although their sizing has gone weird recently, even the sales assistant admitted as much. TKMAXX have the odd pair of lovely posh designer jeans with long legs for about 20 quid.

peachygirl · 08/04/2006 16:49

themoon26 maybe I should pass my 'cut offs' for you to sew on yours! it could be a whole new look

themoon66 · 08/04/2006 16:54

I used to have a friend at school who cut the bottoms off her jeans and I stitched them onto mine. We were skint teenagers though and, looking back at the old photos, it actually looked pretty crap! We thought we were cool though.

peachygirl · 08/04/2006 16:58

see it is a good idea, its retro/ vintage Grin

themoon66 · 08/04/2006 17:06

Hearing a lot about Seven jeans. Where do they sell them? How much do they cost? Are they long-legged ones?

sophy · 09/04/2006 20:57

website net-a-porter.com sells them. They are expensive.

intergalacticwalrus · 09/04/2006 21:00

DP has some gorgeous jeans from Asda that I paid 12 quid for.

Don't wear them myself, as I have legs that look like dolly pins.

crunchie · 09/04/2006 21:21

I am sooooo going to buy a REALLY nice expensive pair of jeans when I have finished my diet. I wear jeans 4 times a week, therefore if they lasted me two years and cost £100, it would be worn about 400 times and therefore about 25p per wear. As apposed to dresses that have cost me £100 and been worn 3 or 4 times. I remember the dress i bought for my brothers wedding was £125 and I have worn it 3 times in 7 years. It is a lovely monsoon number, but I cannot find another occassion to wear it. I suppose I should ebay it! to pay for my jeans :)

hulababy · 09/04/2006 21:22

I have had cheapp and expensive jeans. I have to say that the dearest have never ended up being worth it and have looked no better nor lasted any longer. However I got a lovely pair from Monsoon for £45 last week and so far they are wearing lovely.

milward · 09/04/2006 21:24
