Crappy thin, fine hair. What products do you use?

That's it in the title really.

My children have ruined my hair, it's fine, falling out and thinning rapidly. There is new hair growth around my hairline so maybe there's some hope!

I'm hopeless at styling my hair and I need help please.

Is it worth buying the fabled Babyliss big hair?

What products do you use to boof things up a bit?

Thank you, style gurus :)

Thin hair issues here to after bub born. Yes happens to lots of mums but I got bloods checked at doctors too before I spent lots of money on new haircut & products etc.... Diagnosed with hyper thyroid but getting better now & stupid whispy/ spikey regrowth waving in the wind. Worth checking.

I've got a Lush shampoo bar called Lullaby, I use it now and again in between salon shampoo and when I use it I get comments on how much thicker my hair is, usually very baby fine. I need conditioner though as my ends are dry and I have my hair coloured.

I use the BBH and the Babyliss Root Crimper every day, followed by volumising powder. I section my mostly dry hair into 3 sections andand then use BBH and Crimper on each of the bottom layers in turn, then add volumising powder, then do the top layer with just the BBH. It leaves an amazingly glossy look but with loads of volume which lasts all day. I've got a just below chin length angled Bob.

My wife thinks I'm a bit crazy because I can have as many as three different shampoos in our shower at any given time. She has great full hair, and doesnt use alot of volumizing shampoos, but sometimes my hair needs it. She uses the Shielo Smoothing products, but I use the Shielo Volume products. . .it does look fuller after using Shielo and is pretty thick and it has a wonderfully fresh scent, - that's why they call it anti-flat / volume.

No conditioner, any old shampoo, then bumble and bumble prep spray combed through when it's towel dry. It detangles, kills static and adds shine, without any weight or residue at all. Amazing stuff.

Or a cheaper version which is very similar is the tresemme heat protection spray in a red bottle

Check out vitamins & minerals which assist hair. And check your vitamin D levels by having a blood test via the GP. If they are low (most Brits do have low D level), then take a D3 capsule every day - then check with another blood test.

My hair is mid-brown, very sparse and fine - from the back I resemble a coconut Angry.

I am going to see about getting a 2016 perm in the hope it will do something to make it look like I have some hair.

My hairdresser recently said to me "Why are you bothering with conditioner? You don't need it - ditch it". I did - and my hair is still glossy, but far less lank. Conditioner was just weighing it down.

He (hairdresser) also always uses lots of volumising product when blow drying it (short bob), and some hairspray at the end. I was always scared of putting any product in it because I thought it would make it greasy, but it doesn't - and I wash it every day anyway so it doesn't matter.

Lots of helpful tips but just wondering if your hair is thinner than it used to be, it may be worth thinking about the cause rather than just addressing symptoms - various hormonal things can be implicated including thyroid (under active thyroid affects many women as they get older).

Seasalt products are your friend like Big from Lush or the ££££ surf range from Bumble and Bumble

You don't need a blood test: the NHS recommendation is just to take vitamin D since - as the PP said - huge numbers of Brits do have low vit D levels. The NHS only checks vitamin D levels for a few medical conditions involving malnutrition & malabsorption.
