Glycolic Acid peel

This was mentioned in a thread very recently but I can't find the thread. I'm looking at a product on bravuralondon, a glycolic acid one. It gets great reviews but I'm half thinking that the reviews are bogus cos they all seem to be written in the same style with no typos etc... or am I being paranoid?

Come and tell me if you've tried these please and are they any good :)

What percentage peel were you looking at?

Is it a home product or clinic treatment? I had a glycolic done in a clinic a couple of weeks ago (for acne) and my skin now looks fantastic and smooth.I can't remember what brand they used but I am getting another one next saturday so can have a look then.

I had a course of them at a clinic. It's not something I would do at home though.

Depends what results you want, a glycolic peel wont have a lot of impact on lines but does refresh your skin a lot.

Is this a diy product? I'm interested in this peel malarkey, but I don't now anyone in RL who's had one. After Googling I'm still confused.

the bravura customer help is good, they will reply quite quicky to email queries

I use the glycolic serum and the hylaraunic serum , both excellent

I have used glycolic at home before without a problem too.

I find that lactic acid is easier on the skin sometimes.

I had a course of peels and it did bugger all for me but I have the worlds most persistent bastard acne ever, which is also hormone related.
I am very jealous of all the people it has worked for.
My next step is going to be light box treatment and/or micro-dermabrasion.

Which clinics did you use Macy/Kiss? I'm really tempted but too chicken to DIY like the Sizzlers.

Seriously - you dont even peel with glycolic acid. Plenty of videos on youtube. Ten quid all in.

I went to Sk:n in Brighton. I think it's a chain so they might have one near you.

Sorry to shove in but I wondered....do these home peels remove red marks/small scars? Do they take off enough layers for that?

Princess: mine worked on acne scarring not acne. I took roacutane for the acne then had the peels.

MrsCantSayAnything - No they dont. You would need a TCA peel or a dermaroller for that.

What do they do? Just remove a layer?

Well I was going to give the 50% a go... it's not for acne or anything, more to freshen up my skin, plus there's this beggar of a brown spot (not raised) that I'd really like gone and would even consider getting done surgically/laser.

So when we say peel, do you actually put it on and peel it off? Will check the link above anyway...

They 'injure' the lowest level of skin, prompting the body to repair it and produce collagen..... filling in wrinkles and scars.
With TCA you peel a lot! And it is best left to Drs! Dermarolling too.

Helltotheno - With a strong peel, your skin peels by itself a few days after the peel is done.
Glycolic peels will not make you peel, they are not strong enough. They refresh your skin, clear your pores and make your skin look fresher.... but they will not remove spots etc.
