Best bra brand?

After i have had DS i am going to invest in some 'good' bras.

I normally buy them from primark and buy loads at a time(works out quite a lot if i think about it)

I have no idea about bra brands!

Would love opinions about brands and how nice they fit/last/price

I think it depends on your shape, different people like different brands!

I like Elle Macpherson ones as she does small back sizes and I like the styles. Bravissimo is well regarded I think if you have large norks.

I would suggest ordering a range from somewhere like Figleaves (they do free returns) and try them all on, and see which ones suit your shape best.

You need to go to a store and get fitted. Depending on your size you could go to Bravissimo or John Lewis as a couple of suggestions.

Do not go to M and S. They're shit for bras.

I like Freya and Fantasie (same company). Fantasie are a bit more matronly.

Expect to pay approx £30 for a good bra, but worth every penny. I tend to only have two or three on the go in black, and a smooth line 'nude' one for under white tops.

Yup, I don't think there is one, it's more a case of finding the best brand for you. Go to somewhere like bravissimo that has a variety of brands. Get fitted. And try lots. Personally I love freya and bravissimo own brand. But many people hate freya and love panache instead, it really depends on the shape of your boobs.

Usually they'll look you up and down and then go and get a few for you to try, see how they fit and take it from there.

Good bra fitters have special powers.

John Lewis will stock most brands, except Bravissimo's own range (which is quite extensive now).

From trying them on and seeing what fits and suits you, you'll get an idea whether you prefer full or half cup, balcony, plunge etc etc.

I disagree, i'm of the large norked and M & S bras have been brilliant for me. I used to go to La Senza but they were pricey and uncomfortable. M & S do lovely pretty bras in all sizes and they are very comfortable, none of that rubbing under the arms etc and I can get a bra in my huge size for about £16

And I am small of nork and find that there is more choice for me in M & S than anywhere else.

Well I can only go by my own experience of course. For years I wore M&S until a friend (also a fitter) persuaded me to get properly fitted. I went from an M&S 36B to a 32E and gained a cleavage, good support and a beautiful shape under clothes. Honestly the best thing clothes wise I've ever done.

I'm a big (36e) fan of Panache. I have some fab ones bought recently from eBay.

Sure, get a proper fitting (though I never have), then you can buy your bras anywhere. Freya bras are lovely. I also bought a fab balconette style in M&S last week. Try on loads, as all styles will differ, even within a brand.

I cant speak for the m and s quality, it is more that their fitting service is dire. So they could be selling amazing bras, but they keep selling them in the wrong size.

I havent got the biggest going, but i expect after the birth and once they settled down i will say that size(after milk etc)

Just want comfy bras, i wear underwire ones(primark ones come out in 5-6washes the wire..)

I will go to john lewis and go from there, hopefully they will help my bra nightmare!

Engages bra bore mode.....if they are feeling very heavy then there is a fair chance your bra is not supporting you correctly so your shoulders will be taking too much of the strain. Most likely culprit is the back being too big.

M and S - as someone else said, get fitted elsewhere but the bras themselves are good. They said I was 34B, I am 30C but love their Autograph luxurious silk t-shirt type ones. Look online for biggest choice once you know your size.

Agree! It is about finding the brands that fit you best. I love Calvin Klein and luckily I like the styles. I also like Freya but the shape is wrong for me. 32 back seems too big and 30 too small, So out of 30E 32 DD and 32 D none of them fit properly so I have given up. In Calvin Klein I'm a 32 DD but they don't do that size in all their range. Might try Elle Mc having read this. I would try a range on in store before you order online so you have a better idea of the sizing.

I like prima donna or empriente the best .

I have a lovely independent shop in my town. I can spend £££ in there, I do also shop for everday stuff too. The Fantasie moulded cup (not padded) are fantastic!! About £28 a pop so not expensive

You'd be proud Sorrel, I turned a friend of a friend from an A into a C at the weekend, she had mentioned several times being an a, totally flat, hoping she went up to a B after she has children.....she was a tiny petite little thing wearing a 32 who just about fell off the seat when I said I was a 30.

Let her have a tug on the back of my bra for comparison then felt hers, told her to go down at least one back and up 1 or 2 cups. Wasn't sure she believed me but she asked where to get fitted and a couple of days later I got a message on Facebook saying "measured at John Lewis, thank you, thank you!" followed by "+2, never thought I'd see the day!"

fantasie for good support and designs, debenhams do some.

if i had £££ i would get Prima Donna too, amazingly made. used to wear them only cos i got discount in Rigby and Peller.
