£70 for a cut & colour, that's with a discount. Every 6-7 weeks

vamosbebe · 26/09/2012 23:45

28 quid cut, colour + blow dry, I go every 8 weeks or so and have been going for years - she did my wedding hair for free Smile

CuriousMama · 26/09/2012 23:45

£12.95 for a wet cut. And some people round here think she's expensive Hmm I'm a qualified hairstylist but don't work as one now, except family and friends. If I could get my arse in gear, excuse the pun and drive I could get a business going. I love cutting and colouring.

Northumberlandlass · 27/09/2012 08:48

£39 for cut & blowdry.
£39 for colour (base & then different colours put through)
£15 to get it 'put up' if I'm going somewhere fancy.

Now my hair is longer I alternate between cut & colour every 8 weeks.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 27/09/2012 09:00

I do the MN so £0 every month/6 weeks. I like my hair colour so dont dye it but that might change when the grey comes in.

euwa · 27/09/2012 09:05

This has been done loads of times but asking freinds who live in different areas is interesting because I have found that although I pay the most (£56 and live down south whereas most of my freinds live from birmingham and upwards to Scotland) I also get the longest time spent on my simple cut as does DH who doesn't even have anywhere near as much as my female friends. So it would be interesting to see people post again with the cost and time it takes to have a wash, cut and blowdry.

GetOrfAKAMrsUsainBolt · 27/09/2012 09:07

About 30 -40 quid 3 or 4 times a year. I don't have it coloured any more (it is such a joy not to have to fork that money out and care about roots anymore) so just organise it last minute, I assume that a trim of long hair and a blow dry is pretty non-fuckupable so just go anywhere that fits me in, never the same place twice.

I should look at groupon vouchers really.

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 27/09/2012 11:07

Agree that it depends on area...
I pay £40 for the salon owner to do a cut and finish (£35 for other stylists) in Bolton.
(I think its expensive for the area but I like Aveda salons!)

sugarice · 27/09/2012 11:14

£34 for my cut and another £30 on top when she highlights it.

smoothieooo · 27/09/2012 11:15

£22 (including tip) for a cut and blow dry (N. London). I tend to favour 'old lady' type salons though, rather than T&G/Aveda etc) - the cut is just as good Smile

higgle · 27/09/2012 11:27

£40 cut, £80 part head highlights, £103 full head highlights ( inc cut)

Lottapianos · 27/09/2012 13:48

£90 for a full-head colour, cut and blow dry

East London but not a poncey salon

BrianButterfield · 27/09/2012 13:51

Last one was £18 and it's the best cut I've had for ages.

EdwardorEricCantDecide · 27/09/2012 13:51

£70-110 for highlights and cut, depending on where i go. i am naturally blonde though so can go for up to 4 months between cuts and roots dont look that bad

Stevie77 · 27/09/2012 15:41

£36 for a cut and blow. Love my hairdresser!

purplepenguin86 · 27/09/2012 16:09

I pay £19 for a wet cut, but I have short hair and she dries it and puts a bit of gunk on it too, so it is basically a cut and blow dry really! I do go regularly though, depending on how short my hair is at the time - if I have it in a really short style I can't go much over a month between cuts.

I have paid a lot more, but I was lucky to find this hairdresser locally who does a great job and is cheap.

Ragwort · 27/09/2012 16:15

As little as possible, usually go as a 'model' to have my hair cut 3-4 times a year Grin .

hippermiddleton · 27/09/2012 16:17

£36 for the cut, about £28 for a semi permanent colour, every 10 weeks or so, and I'm in the Midlands.

The one time I decided to splash out on a stupidly expensive London 'stylist to the stars' hairdo it was horrific. AND I had to listen to tales of what-a-great-mate Michelle from Liberty X was for the twenty minutes he deigned to cut my hair.

CuriousMama · 27/09/2012 16:30

I think I need to get back out and cut some hair. I've lived in this village 2 years and every other shop is a salon. I'd prefer to work freelance so may go further afield as most here have their own stylists, it's seen as a real snub if you change. There must be at least 10 salons, I've never known anything like it.
I may bite the bullet and buy a small car (eeeek).

Babyrabbits · 27/09/2012 16:43

Mumsnet for me too.

Its free, easy and looks good ( lots of positive comments)

I'm not keen on all the forced small talk or being touched:-) try it!

I also colour my own, after about 15 years i'm good at that.

tilder · 27/09/2012 16:48

Too much. But took until I was in my thirties to find someone who can cut my hair in a way I like. Previously have looked like a bad Farrah Fawcett version. Minus figure obv.

About 40 for cut and dry. Maybe a little more...

iknowwho · 27/09/2012 16:48

£65 for cut
£155 for cut and highlights.

AgathaFusty · 27/09/2012 19:05

£30 - £40 - varies because I can't find anyone who does as I ask. They all seem a bit scissor-happy Hmm

Viviennemary · 27/09/2012 19:11

I used to pay around £27 for cut and blow. Now I've got a mobile who charges around £11 for the same. When I am away visiting I sometimes go to this hairdresser who charges around £45 but does a really good job. But I begrudge paying that much.

milkandribena · 27/09/2012 19:13

£10 I know the salon owner (who owes me big) should be £45. Don't get anything fancy and have to go in at stupid times but so worth it
