If you suffer badly with the cold in winter, how do you dress to keep warm and still look put together and stylish?

I really suffer with the cold in the winter, I have Raynauds and regularly lose all feeling in my hands and feet (and nose!). I love the summer months, I can dress for style rather than for warmth but then winter comes around and I look like a bag lady again.
How do you dress to be warm and look decent? Today, I have on Ugg boots, woolly socks, knee high socks, jeans, long sleeve t-shirt and 2 hoodies. Its only September and I'm dreading another freezing winter.

Thanks CMOT, I was looking for gloves so missed those. Don't know if she'd wear fingerless ones, perhaps over thinner gloves? LandsEnd look fab but £££!

GobblersKnob can I ask if the Haramaki rolls down or bunches under your clothes?
I love the idea of one but am concerned I will end up looking like I have even more rolls of fat and I can bear clothes that bunch up

Go to TK Maxx for wool and cashmere sweaters. I got a lovely merino wool jumper by Clements Rebeiro (sp?) for £20, and cashmere jumper for £35. They are also good for down coats. I didn't look at their gloves etc, but I imagine they'd have wool ones.
