Just that really... And I'm not flush!

There are some very cheap knee highs on TK Maxx in cherry red or grey.

They look lovely - however I can never do knee length boots up! :(

Going for the traditional 8 hole ankle boot. I'm thinking I should go with practical black but I'm loving the plum colour...

I can highly recomend these slightly unusual 8 holes, they are 'burnished suede' whatever that means they actually look like slightly roughed up leather. They seem to be waterproof though, they don't absorb water like suede, but they are softer than usual DM's and have broken in far more quickly. They also have a rather natty soft cotton floral lining, (I think the idea is that you can turn the tops down, should you wish).

You might find them cheaper if you hunt as they are discontinued, I got mine about a month ago for £50 from Javari, but they are sold out now. They are really, really, really nice though and now I have them I would have happily paid full price, they are my new favourite DM's (and I have rather a few Grin.

Leg warmers are coverings for the lower legs, similar to socks but thicker and generally footless. They were originally used as dancewear by ballet and other classic dancers in order to keep the leg muscles warm and to prevent cramping or other muscle injuries.
Traditionally knitted from pure wool, modern variants are more typically made of cotton, synthetic fibers, or both. Some are made of other materials, such as chenille.

If I wore dms I'd look like a golf club. Narrow feet and skinny ankles I'd have to do the laces up so tight. Any cheap alternatives for me? To wear with leggings or skinnies. Doesn't have to be flat but does need to be walkable in. I like a wedge, don't know if that's in or not now?

AmberNectarine · 21/09/2012 19:52

Today I am wearing thick ponte leggings with my Ash Bowie wedge trainers, long fitted T and a jersey blazer. The trainers are v leg lengthening, but not everyone's cup of tea. I would also wear a similar look with my Acne pistol boots, and there is a host of imitations on the high street at the moment.

SunshineOutdoors · 21/09/2012 20:05

Do you mean something a bit like this? I tried them on at the weekend and was very tempted. Liked the concealed wedge as it felt more flattering I didn't feel like a big capital L in them like I do in flat trainers.

AmberNectarine · 23/09/2012 15:58

Yes basically. They are great, really comfy and make my legs look longer - what's not to like? Don't do leggings with flat trainers as I don't like my thighs...
