Boots - ankle, calf or knee high.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 12/09/2012 20:48

Little grey ankle boots sort of elfin shape, fleecey lined. so so warm no socks are necessary.

timetosmile · 12/09/2012 20:48

when I wearboots with leggigs I look a foot shorter than my matronly 5'5 in a fimble kind of way

AuntySib · 12/09/2012 20:51

Well I do see the point of your question - can be a bit of a dilemma, in that boots with leggings can look a bit " principal boy" if the top half is short. Ballet shoes can be a bit flimsy, sandals too cold. Converse or similar can work, depending your legs. I tend to go for boots but make sure my top is not far short of knee- length ( but then i am old....)

SideshowBoob · 12/09/2012 22:07

Gold where did you get yours?

OnlyWantsOne · 12/09/2012 22:26

TESCO have boots like that atm

gymboywalton · 12/09/2012 22:27

i wouldn't waer leggings
i think they are a fashion that should never have come back tbh

CointreauVersial · 12/09/2012 22:28

Long boots.

Or ballet flats if the leggings are above the ankle and it's not too cold.

thepeoplesprincess · 12/09/2012 22:28

10 eyelet DMs. They are strangely super flattering, not to mention cool as feck.

GoldPlatedNineDoors · 12/09/2012 22:33

I got mine last winter from New Look. was too heavily pg to bend and tie laces Grin

Iamgiulietta · 12/09/2012 22:34

Great long foc martens green

SideshowBoob · 13/09/2012 07:07

Hmm... DMs. Can you wear those these days?

OP posts:
GobblersKnob · 13/09/2012 07:17

DM's and wool socks = super toasty feet.

LesleyPumpshaft · 13/09/2012 07:22

gymboywalton, it's bad when they are see through and people wear them as trousers! I wear them instead of tights during the winter, as they are nice and warm and I hate the feeling of my feet being in tights. shudders

If you have the legs, have seen lots of chunky footwear - mostly ankle boots/ wedge boots, chunky strappy shoes - combined with leggings/ black opaques / black skinnies. Ideas here and here and here and also this from last spring (not boot wearing weather yet in Central / Southern Europe).

SideshowBoob · 13/09/2012 08:47

That's the only thing - I'm 5ft5, not big but not tall!

SideshowBoob · 13/09/2012 08:49

Oh and I should have said - I'm talking practical, walkable (I do a LOT of walking) and last-for-yearsable.

Over-knee flat boots (need new ones this year as my 5yo dune ones have finally given up the ghost) or military style boots with thick socks. Will be going for coloured 'jeggings' rather than legings for winter though.

StaceymReadyForNumber3 · 13/09/2012 09:07

I got some lovely 'toggle boots' from lands end last year, hopefully my fat pregnant feet will fit in them as they are soooo comfy!

Or of its not too cold ballet flats.

fanoftheinvisibleman · 13/09/2012 09:16

Another DM wearer here. Mainly DM biker boots but also have a pair of 8 hole pink ones. I'd be the first to admit the pink ones are a niche market and not that practical though!

SideshowBoob · 13/09/2012 09:24

I'd really like the 8 hole ones but am I too short?

OP posts:
fanoftheinvisibleman · 13/09/2012 13:28

I'm only 5ft 2 and I think mine look great. I tend to wear dresses and leggings with them.

Thanks! Now to choose between the biker style or the 8 hole lace ups...
