regular/daily makeup wearers, how long does it take you to apply your makeup each day?

Do you have to get up an hour or half hour earlier?

Just curious really as after watching many tutorials online I often wonder how so many find the time to do this everyday. I am especially interested in what mumsnetters have to say as it can't be easy to find the time to apply a full face of makeup and get kids ready each day.

Or does it not really take that long? It takes me ages to apply makeup so I rarely bother, especially since becoming a mum, but I'm a novice anyway.

As I said, just curious. Also feeling a bit like women get a bum deal IYSWIM.

Prob 10 mins but its spread out. I do liz earle cleanser before going into shower then use cloth in shower to wipe off. Immediately moisturise face when I come out and wait for that to soak in while I use body cream, then use primer and wait for that to "soak" in while brush teeth. After that its foundation, eyeliner, mascara (just one coat) and eye shadow using mac sticks. I do lip gloss on train as I kiss the kids before I go Smile

I got my eyebrows totally wrong this morning, making mistakes is costly timewise!!!!!

5 to 10.

Foundation takes the longest as I have dreadful skin. Then a smudge round with kohl, eyeshadow, mascara, lip balm and powder to finish.

It takes me 15 mins each day when i go out.

I apply fake eyelashes everyday(yes everyday)

I do my liquid eyeliner with a flick, foundation then brow gel, apply eyelashes then blusher and im ready go.

If you look at me, people are shocked when i say it takes under 20 mins.

I can have hair/make up/dressed out the house in an hour.

I got my eyeliner and eyebrows tattooed (natural looking eyebrows) and a small fifties style upper eyeliner and also my lip liner (in natural colour) I also wear individual lash extensions that look natural. So in the morning makeup wise i slap on some 24hr lippy and some bobbi brown foundation just on the mid parts of my face to blend the under eye/slightly reddish cheeks and i'm good to go in about 1 min.

But If I need a shower I can be out of the door still in 15 mins from bed to key in the ignition. However I have 2 toddlers I take to childcare first which involves making lunches dressing them feeding them etc. So from getting up to out the door I would say about 30 mins on a good day (clothes easily available for all) and 40 mins on a bad day.

BTW totally recommend the who permanent makeup thing - saves time if you a working mum and i don't look so haggid with panda eyes at the end of the day!

I actually prioritise make-up over breakfast. I sit with ds at the table doing my make-up while he eats. I only take 5 mins though. Have breakfast after school run.

5-10 minutes, depending on what I do (which depends on how rough I look Grin). Sometimes it's just concealer; other times I will do a basic routine of concealer, BB cream, cream blush, eyebrow gel; if I'm feeling fruity and the noise from the children doesn't suggest their imminent injury or escape, I might add some eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick or tinted lipbalm as well.

If I'm going out or making an effort for some reason, I like to experiment with different looks and colours, but it still doesn't generally take me longer than half an hour at most.

jumpingjackamo · 14/09/2012 13:10

My daughter is only a year old and very much a mummy's girl so that is probably half the reason I take so long.

I am constantly chasing her around the house while trying to get ready.

OP pop her in her cot with a few toys and books for 10 minutes. Sorted
