Rosehip Oil - awesome and fantastic

hiddenhome · 30/08/2012 22:55

I bought some rosehip oil after a recommendation on here (can't remember who by, sorry) and it is fantastic!

Enlarged pores have diminished by about 70%, my skin is clearer, blemishes have toned down, pores are clean and my wrinkles that were starting around my eyes have virtually gone Shock I can't believe it. Skin is soft and clear Smile

I am so happy. I apply it after doing the OCM and some microfoliant every other day. That's all.

Thank you to whoever recommended it Smile

i've tried the trilogy oil and loved it, but it's a bit meh smell-wise. imo nothing has beaten nuxe oil. www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=nuxe+huile+prodigieuse&hl=en&prmd=imvns&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.r_qf.&biw=1366&bih=653&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=4588003435021402346&sa=X&ei=VrpDUPnHLojL0QWitIGICg&ved=0CGsQ8wIwAA

it's thinner, somehow, than the trilogy rosehip... absolutely amazing stuff.

LetsKateWin · 02/09/2012 20:59

I've just started using the OCM with argan as a moisturiser. I may have to give the rose hip a try because my pores have been very noticeable.

I went oil crazy and bought:
Sweet almond
A calendula infusion in sunflower
Argan
Castor
Tea tree

I got caught up in the 3 for 4 offers.

AitchTwoOhOneTwo · 02/09/2012 21:00

oh, and it's cheap as chips compared to the trilogy stuff... last for six mos with me and dh using it twice a day. i did buy some other rose hip as well, a cheaper one, and it didn't last long either.

ToothGah · 02/09/2012 21:58

I've just bought the one off Amazon. I really hope it can do something for my increasingly noticeable pores.

Can someone baby-talk me through how to use it please? Do I wash it off? How long should I massage it for? :)

UnrequitedSkink · 02/09/2012 22:07

One-click purchasing on Amazon is scary! Still, £3.79 isn't bad and if it does something for my pores I'll be overjoyed. I'd love to try the Elemis stuff but am trying to be good and not spend money this month so I'll give the rosehip oil a try first.

Anyone do OCM with Baby Bottom Butter, out of interest?

AwesomeOrange · 02/09/2012 23:14

Bloody S&B is costing me an arm and a leg!
Just ordered the rosehip oil and the Elemis stuff!
I'm using the Elemis melting cleanser at the mo which is fab too

blondieminx · 03/09/2012 00:30

I have been tempted Smile - got the Naissance one from Amazon!

will report back...

Pinot · 03/09/2012 09:57

Ooh Awesome, I'd like to try that Melting Cleanser from Elemis. I love Elemis and that gets such good reviews!

AwesomeOrange · 03/09/2012 14:03

Pinot it is really lovely, leaves your skin really clean but not too drying.
I'm really getting into Elemis products hence ordering the Tri-enzyme stuff, on your recommendation!

kissyfur · 03/09/2012 14:56

Definitely going to give the rosehip oil a try. This might sound likes daft question but does anyone know if it's safe to do the oil cleansing method when your pregnant? Is the castor oil safe?

Bucharest · 05/09/2012 10:53

Signing up with the baaa-ing. Ordered the rosehip and then found myself clicking for the sweet almond and apricot kernel as well.

Have been using Liz E Superskin Concentrate but is mucho expensive. Will now make oily apothecary in kitchen with funnels and tubes. Grin

coffeeinbed · 05/09/2012 12:46

Rosehip oil is great, but I'm going to save you all more money! Grin
Seriously, whatever they have done to the Boots Botanics Sensitive Skin Serum is briliant - much better on my skin for a fraction of the price other companies charge.
I just stocked up - it's a third off as well.
And got the Day Cream to try.

Bucharest · 05/09/2012 12:57

I've been looking at the new Boots botanics...is the serum the same as the facial oil?

coffeeinbed · 05/09/2012 13:16

No.
It's a very light serum, Skin Relief Ultra Calm. I have rally sensitive skin, gets red and stays red. This really calms it down.
Haven't seen the oil. Yet.

coffeeinbed · 05/09/2012 13:16

really

SilkandSteel · 05/09/2012 15:33

coffee noticed you have the botanics day cream to try and have sensitive skin, I have just tried this and and it stung terribly and made my face blotchy, although the night cream and facial oil have been fine. You may be Ok but just thought I would mention. I would be interested to know how you get on with it.

coffeeinbed · 05/09/2012 20:34

Silk I just realised mine's the night cream as well. I did dither a lot about which one to get, I must have picked up the night one thinking it was the day.
Which is probably just as well, after what you say.
Haven't seen the oil. The serum's lovely though.

SilkandSteel · 05/09/2012 20:39

coffee the oil is lovely would recommend it. am going to look for the serum when I am next in Boots and give that a try.

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/09/2012 22:04

I've used the oil for the first time tonight,

How long before I look 16 again?.

blondieminx · 07/09/2012 22:25

Mine's arrived Smile

Joins fluffy in awaiting miraculous results Grin

ToothGah · 07/09/2012 22:35

:( I used mine yesterday in the morning and again in the evening. I've got spots already.

I never ever get spots. At worst, the odd blackhead or whitehead. It's just enlarged pores that are my problem.

I'm really peed off - won't be using it again as I can't bear to have spots, even short term.

Well, it doesnt make me oily at all. I woke up today with very matt skin and I wore it under make up yesterday with ok-ish results. It was very warm here so I was a bit oily.

MrsGuyOfGisbourne · 10/09/2012 09:28

Out in the sun yesterday, not burnt, but skin felt slighty tender. Put teh oli on in the evening ( first time) - fully expected to wake up this morning covered in spots, but no, and skin felt nice, tho' am not yet looking 16 Grin
